Hello all. Where is the PCV valve located on a 2.7L automatic on a 99 prerunner? I plan to do a tune-up this weekend and want to change out my pcv valve since theyre not that expensive. Thanks

It's behind the hard plastic piece going to throttle body from airbox assy. Got a bend in it.

thanks for reply. is this the plastic intake pipe youre talking about? so I have to remove the whole intake to access the pcv valve? is the pcv valve difficult to remove/install? thanks

No you don't have to remove intake. Just pull pcv out of grommet. Small hose clamp on other end. Simple to do. If pcv rattles it is stiill good.

I cleaned mine a few weeks ago and the grommet was so brittle , a few pieces broke off when I was taking it out.

So I replaced it but as I was taking the rest of the old grommet out...it fell into the valve cover.

I was pretty thankful I'd just gotten a set of hooks and picks in the mail from HF.

I have the exact same truck as you so I'm just passing along a quick way to turn a 5 minute job into 30 minutes wearing a headlamp.

Got to buy grommet if you need one. If it's still rubbery, your good. You can still clean pcv even if it rattles. Brake cleaner works. Rattle is good sound.
