I guess I'll toss a pic or two into the mix. First is my camp gun, a Remington 870 Desert Tactical. Second is a good friends M1919 machine gun mounted on a Ford GPW. asegateg_213efe0e8e02eb427a667047a9ed36516ff3ca0b.jpgu8e5emem_17d71e24bf0574460ccfeb117e8cb589e0192f96.jpg

I learned today that if you slam a m&p mag in with some force it comes apart and you'll find all 9 rounds on the ground...

This is a good habit to have. Any firearm that requires that you gently seat a magazine for fear of explosive self destruction isn't a firearm you should own IMHO.

Wait, so tapping the mag isn't a standard practice? I was taught that anytime you load a fresh mag you give it a tap to make sure it seats right.

I wouldn't trust it. Magazine reliability is kind if important for overall reliability and I don't trust super glue all that much especially in situations where there will be jarring impact as this is the type of thing that likes to make super glue fail more than direct pressure.

I think you misunderstood what I said. I was reaffirming that having to baby a magazine isn't a solution to this problem.

I wasn't, After i learned how to operate a semi-auto (from videos) I just seemed to do it naturally.
My Dad (revolver/lever/bolt gun, guy) doesn't like it when I slam the mags in our (very few) semi-autos, he does use a good bit more force on his AR than his pistol though.

Well anyways here's my new m&p had it for a month now. Not bad... Different feel to my glocks. Definitely going with the apex trigger.

Kinda wish I paid 150 more to get the CORE.

Seating a magazine home with a firm & position motion is never a bad thing... unless you have inferior magazines. This is the best way to assure that your magazine is properly engaged and if you have a malf the 'tap, rack, bang!' philosophy backs this practice up. You don't want to worry about being 'too aggressive' in times of stress as you likely will be default anyway.
