    Il be down there for a week doing some hard ass trails and a lot of them. I want to be sure I can get back no matter what.
    It's not dead, just works intermittently lol. It's locked the first could tries I've been out. Lock it and leave it for the trail. New motto haha. I'm taking the Ben approach. I want to make it look easy, not look like a tard.

    I usually keep a level head. dont romp on it, apply the 3 try rule...

    im not worried about bending anything. im just jumping the truck.
    I dont think you guys realize how easy it is to sheer side gears with bigger tires, a locked diff and a good hop. especially on that type of terrain.
    i sure dont want to find a way:eek:

    good thing I plan on having all of those as well. add gear is another one that likes to go after the cvs. i hope the cv breaks before that. because getting that out is a PITA says konsta and brady. im just glad i have konsta there to help fix it if anything goes wrong lol. if it can break on a toyota hes fixed it. im having aleks call the moab orilleys to make sure they stock a supply of cvs as well incase i burn through mine


    I also just realized that my 8.4 axle does not have shock mounts, and i dont have shocks short enough to fit on the factory mounts. so if i had to swap axles it would be an interesting drive. all in all i dont want to have to. but i also want to be able to get back no matter what. there are other parts im worried about, next one is the drive shaft, ive already gotten it a few times. but if i really need something konsta is parting out the truck there anyway lol. maybe i can buy spare parts off him if shit goes wrong.

    I don't think you'll have that issue. You'll blow cvs before you hurt the axle

    are we talking about 2 different ends of the truck here? I will have the most likely replacements to break for the front. but its hard to carry replacement parts for the rear axle, because it something goes its usually catastrophic. so its nice to have a back up.

    Agreed. It's funny to compare the two ring gears side by side. They both measure exactly 8".

    wrong sir. we did this once and the 8" measures 8 inchs the 8.4 measures 8 1/8 inchs which isnt a lot but it is a tinny bit bigger. most of the reason its said to be "stronger" is the entire third is built strong for bearing support which tends to be the biggest cause of diff failure. Ive broke both which means it's time for tons.

    looks good. my bed is to small for that think ill just do a bed rail/ head rack thing eventually.

    where as i have a 4 door with a bed box i dont think one would fit in my bed but the normable beds it would be sweet for.

    I see it now. Had to go search through your pictures for it. Yeah, doubtful it would do you a lot of good for now. Especially since the tire will be mounted under the rack.

    :woot: he's basically had his own line for a year now just a little slow going with other work on top of fabbing. I'm running 2 of his bumpers and 4 of his skids.
