    Has anyone seen this magazine..?

Haven't had a chance to read through it fully; from what I gather, it was created by former writers/staff of Overland Journal. I know that their editorial definitely has a few jabs to the "glamping" crowd, and the content/trips definitely are much more accessible than Overland Journal. I like it. To me, Overland Journal has a pretty tangible "elitist" vibe to it.

"The absence of a "glamping mindset".. "..enjoy the outdoors regardless of the size of your pocket book.."

    Also. New toy.

The magazine was included in the "swag" bag/info packet for Cruise Moab participants a couple weeks ago. Looks to be a decent magazine. Print quality is not on par with Overland Journal, but as you say OJ has a distinct "elitist" vibe to it. You are correct that this new mag has staff that used to be part of OJ. I think it is most definitely a more realistic view of adventure travel and overlanding for the typical offroader. Certainly a welcome departure from the "glamping" aspect and "do things this way or you're not legit" feel of OJ.

I'm a fan at least from my first impression. Time will tell if it holds on but my opinion has soured on OJ and their expectation of what makes real adventure travel and adventure vehicles/gear. No question the quality of the paper etc from OJ is top notch, but I'm more interested in content.

Funny; that was my first comment, the texture of the paper. It's interesting how such fundamental things like texture/etc. can dictate what people think about a publication. Still haven't had a chance to read through it fully, but I agree wholeheartedly with what you've said this far.

Loaded the RTT on the truck, may try to sneak out for a quick overnight. Then it's back to work for 3 months, with 4 months off after that. Found that I've shifted more towards maintenance on my rig, with gradual improvements along the way. Either going to figure out a system to raise and lower my RTT rack, or build a new one that sits lower. It's a motherfucker to load alone, and it's only a matter of time before I throw my back out, or drop it.

Spent a couple hours rewiring my saw for 220V.. Totally had a brain fart about having to rewrite the contactor as well; glad I didn't smoke it. Have a few ideas for some innovative bed storage solutions.. Not going to be able to fab them for a little while.

Made some recent mods to the truck in preparation for a couple upcoming trips.

Insulated the shell with Reflectix. It turned out really well.

Also, I needed an exterior mounted trash container. I had this old unused Pelican case in my possession for 10 years, so I decided to dust it off and use it for a trash box. My oldest daughter helped me install it. :D I cleaned it off and gave it a bath in aerospace 303 protectant stuff.

I hate all of you and these pictures you take. By hate I mean jealous. Having the space and the freedom to travel for days and not seeing another person is amazing.

:) Yup. I get jealous all the time when I'm trapped for extended periods of time and can't get away.

I recommend to take up solo backpacking. For me I find it to be the best way to get away.

Here is another picture from my favorite place to make you more jealous. :p

Is that solo backpacking or wheeling, or both? I definitely want to get into solo backpacking more. Whenever I'm packing with a group I tend to hang behind to look for the birds and then I end up on my own which is definitely invigorating.
