True dat!!!! On the upper control arms. I would most definitely consider them. Before you buy what you decide on, come on the forum and run it by some of us. It don't have to be me....there's always someone that knows more than me. I can share with you what all I have done on my 3 different Tacomas and maybe it'll help.

Peter, order me up my utility rack!!! Then when you can, shoot me a figure of the rack + tax. As well as the final cost of the 4 bulbs.

I didnt have to extend any of my lines, just put uca's on, dropped my transfer case. Had the leaf spring tsb done prior to lift too. Have Thomas Toyota do lift.

Extending the brake lines is something you would need to do with a 3" lift. If you don't and fully droop your rear suspension it could pull them off (For example when a garage lifts the truck from the frame). I 100% recommend extending the lower bracket they are on or extending the brake lines.

The lift doesn't cause any more droop/travel, so extended line's aren't really necessary. The shock still limits the articulation to the exact same travel as before the lift. IF you install aftermarket shocks they are 100% necessary.

True I guess I should have specified that if the lift increases your travel at all in the rear then you need them. I am just not used to selling lifts without replacing the rear shocks. I can't think of very many 3" lifts out there that don't extend travel in the rear. Which ones are you thinking of? Stock shocks and Standard length 5100s?

Pro Taco what lift are you running?

No lifts specifically, but lots and lots of people on TW just toss an AAL on and call it good. I am talking more about the rear than the front.

not the case anymore though thanks to Mark's help! :D STOKED for Saturday man!

Pro Taco, if you plan on running a new pack in the rear, near or distant future, get them for the peace of mind at least. Do it once, do it right.

If you ever plan to take the truck off the pavement, just get an extended line and thats one less thing to worry about.

Thanks for everyones help. I wi;;will just buy the longer brake lines to for that piece of mind. As for the UCAs there going to have to be put on sometime down the road. Does toytec have a lift that comes with the UCAs That wouldnt break the bank.

    Check out HeadStrong OffRoad:

    http://www.headstrongoffroad.com/headstrong-kits-tacoma-05-6-lug.html

First kit, Coil/Bilstein 5100 lift Kit (part # HS05BK-1), with Light Racing UCAs, no diff drop (not needed, don't waste money) and no strut assembly (plus $90 if you want it done) totals: $942 PLUS shipping.

    WAY cheaper than Toytec.

    Light Racing UCAs:
    Toytec: $449
    HeadStrong: $365

Just not sure if you're going with a new leaf pack or just AAL.. :not sure:

If not a new pack, another good option that's better than the AAL is Wheeler's 3-leaf pack. Adds to your current leaf pack. Lot of people on here run it and are pretty happy, just depends on what your needs are.

I was just going to go with 265/75R16. But if I can work it out and get the lift first I should be able to put 285s on it I think.

Yeah might go that route not that much more than the one I was looking at and it comes with UCAs. Whats the deal with the aal do they just make it ride like shit.

Well as someone who has had both AAL and a new leaf pack, I regret not getting the leaf pack from the beginning. I carry about 200 lbs with me at all times in the rear and the AAL started to sag after about only 3,xxx miles. Definitely would look into the 3-leaf pack if you're looking to save some coin.

I had a 3" lift on my last Tacoma. I had 285/75/16 fj trail team wheels 16x7 with no issues. I did trim off a very little amount of plastic which isn't a big deal at all. ......so, you should be fine.

I have also had both, aal and now the Dakar leaf pack. The new pack is definitely nicer. I never had a problem with my aal, but then again I don't haul around the rear weight like geek. It just depends on how your gonna use your truck....being a hunter....do it right the first time and do the pack.
