I'm probably going to ride Downieville on Saturday or Sunday. Just need to figure out which day the wife is working.

SWEET. I can be your friend again! Pics?

How did you like that bike? How do you like the climbing vs the descending? My opinion is that you give up nothing on that bike (well on the 95 as it what I have but they use the same suspension)? What did you think of the 27.5, I havent ridden any 275's yet? How tall are you? Just wondering how it relates to the 29/275 discussion.

I'll have some pics of it up tomorrow.

It likes to descend more than it likes to climb. Might just be me and my legs though lol. I really like it!! I rode 26s until I got the 75 and only rode a 29er once. I can't really give a good comparison between the 75 and a 29er. I'm 5'-7" and riding a small; it fits me perfectly. Yetis tend to run large.

Weird. I am just shy of 6' and I ride a Large. Had a Medium (575) once and always felt cramped. Got on the L SB66 and felt at home immediately.

Hmm. My buddy is 6' if not taller and he even commented on how roomy my bike is for a small.

Rode up at Downieville yesterday. The ride was great. Couple of trees down on Sunrise and Butcher. Not very muddy. My buddy wrecked on second divide and took 5 stitches to his knee cap.

Sucks to hear about your buddy. Knee pads work wonders! Any snow up on the trail?

White 2nd Gen with Relentless bumper? I talked to you and your friend for a bit in the parking lot before you went up.

No snow on the trail. Also surprisingly dry. There were a few small snowbanks on shady parts of Sunrise, but they were well off the trail.

No snow in the way! Trail conditions were dry but not that dusty considering. And the weather was perfect during the day!

I rode Downieville a few weeks ago and it was the best it could have been. The top of Sunrise was closed because of snow but the other trails were perfect! A little bit of mud, no dust at all, and brown powder everywhere. Basically hero dirt. Let's put together a TW Downieville trip. Who's in??

    In. Sooner the better.

Awesome idea. Traveling up with a bunch of TW people will make shuttling that much easier. No waiting, no pressure to get down before your next shuttle leaves, and pretty much free.

There is a slim chance I can make it. Too much stuff going on this month. I will keep watching for you guys to pick a date though. I might try to make a day trip of it from the bay area.
