Sounds like one of your crimp connections is bad or your male spade connectors are not making connection inside the fuse box

Just so you know you haven't lost your mind... I just did this to my 2013 Prerunner TRD Off-Road and same thing... everything works like it should EXCEPT my DRL's.... I can turn the fogs off and on at will, but no DRL's at all??? I think I will leave it as it is and see... maybe the module (BCM??) Needs to relearn??? :( :(

^ no, what this mod does has NOTHING to do with DRL's if done properly.

There are ZERO connections in common between the fog light, the switched ignition hot from the AC relay and the DRL's

OH I totally understand that, yet it happened! I agree this has nothing to do with the mod, I just wonder if when pulling the relays the BCM resets something??

Some of Chinese connectors are stamped and folded from dual thickness material and tend to dislike modification. Rather than cutting down 1/4" male spades and using (loose-fitting) 1/4" females on the parallel power end, get 3/16" (.188) connectors. Also check to insure you didn't knock something else loose in the fusebox. As ND4 pointed out, there is no wired connection between those two circuits.

    Goodluck.

I did this mod yesterday, super easy. Took all of 25 minutes. Thanks OP! I do have one question. I opened up to double check all my connections after driving it for a day today when I got home from about a 30 minute trip. Everything was still good but I did notice that it seemed the fog relay was a little warm to the touch. Is this normal while the relay is closed? It very well could have been that way before the mod but obviously I never had a reason to check. Thanks

When a relay is in an operating position the electromagnet will heat up a lil... Pair that with the enclosed area that its in as well as under hood heat yeah I could see it getting warm, but it shouldnt be excessive.

Don't think it's excessive at all, just never noticed it 'cause there was never a need to. Thanks man. I'll check it now and then

I finally got around to doing this mod. And thank you Taco Larry for your version. It worked great for my V6 2014 SR5 DBCB. I didn't have the inverter circuit to tap into either and the "add a fuse" was the perfect solution.

    Great thread all around!

    Glad everyone is having success.

Those who have used the EFI relay, do your fogs come on at weird times at all?

No what i mean is say if you leave the fog light switch on, and turn the ignition off. Do the fogs randomly come on at like 4 hours intervals (when you are pulling from the efi relay) or something like they did with the fog light any time mod that spliced into the green wire (i think it was that color).

First, I want to say I appreciate the time and detail you put into this mod. I did mine today but ran into the same issue that at least two others have on this mod - the DTRLs failed. I triple-checked connections before firing it up. It appeared that the DTRLs were on initially when running through the test sequence, but somewhere along the line, they went out and didn't come back on.

I disassembled the mod and went back to stock, but the DTRLs are not coming on. I'm thinking I blew a fuse, but haven't had time to troubleshoot that yet. I remembered that others had DTRL issues so I came back in to search here first.

I don't mean to piss on this thread, because I like the solution. But my scientific bent forces me to report that this went haywire for me. I will troubleshoot and hopefully be able to report soon that I've located the source of the failure.

    Cheers.

its possible something got down in somewhere to short the DTRL's .. like stated this mod should have zero effect on the DTRL's as all they really share is the common ground and hot.
