My Taco just turned 2500km on the odometer about 1500 miles, I'm wondering if its time for the first oil change, what are your experiences?

i would say wait at least till you get to 3000 miles, no benefit from changing it earlier. definately use synthetic when you change though

I'm old school and I'm always paranoid about the manufacturing process.
When the engine is new, everything is really tight and there may be some metal particles circulating in the oil as things get broken in.
I changed it early. No harm in it.
But this is only my opinion.

I put mobil1 5W30 at 1K miles. Break in period for these trucks is ~1k miles, so that's when I switch to syn.
