I can't say I have tried all the "city" cheese steak places. But, I can attest to a little place in Frazer right off Rte 202 and Rte 30 called John's Pizza. They have had the best cheese steaks in Chester County for many years. And although John passed away last August. His son Chris, i've watched grow up for the past 21 years runs the place just the way he and his dad always have. I'm sure there are plenty of small mom and pop places with excellent cheese steaks. But, I'd drive out of my way to get one from John's.

 

I feel the same way about Rich's Deli in Ft. Washington.
My Dad took me there as a kid when we were doing a job out that way - great steaks!

 

Used to grab steaks from Rich's when I worked out in Dresher, PA. They were great, haven't been there in about 8 years.

Another good joint outside the city is Goombas Pizzaria in Colmar, PA on Rte 309. Great rolls make a good steak.

 

Was actually going to mention this place. Sad to hear the owner passed. We used to go there for lunch when we still worked in our office in Malvern. Service was horribly slow but the food was always great. And there's Jack's that is practically across the street that is pretty good as well. I assume they have a rivalry going on. There's also Pepper Mill which isn't too far from there which is very good. Point is you don't have to go to the city to get a great cheese steak. Many excellent places in the surrounding areas.

 

I've never been a fan of Jack's. Tried it, 3-4 times.. Maybe it was time of day 1:30ish. But, service was non-existent rolls were stale. Peppermill off Rte 352? Used to be good back in early 2000.. Think they changed ownership around 04-05? And it isn't near the place it used to be. But, then with the economy, what is?

For a very small yet historic place, the G-Lodge Restaurant right outside the park on Rte 23. Has the best OMG cheeseburgers I've ever held in my hand. And they are huge.. But, this thread was about cheese steaks or a meet or something.. LOL

Well started to get the rust in check early and this is what I got done the first afternoon and got more done in the past few days

Thanks. I wire wheel and use sand blaster sand paper to knock off most of the rust and the bubbled paint. Then give it 2 coats of rust killer/inhibitor, next 2 coats of rust stop primer, then just 2 coats of flat black paint.

I've tried the undercoat and rubberized stuff but its harder to get at rust and usually cracks letting it rust. I've done this to both my tacos and it seems the easiest to maintain.

Rust is hard to keep in check but my system atleast for me makes the job a lot easier. Any questions feel free to hit me up and if your close ill lend a hand doing it. I refuse to let my truck be a victim of the rust belt

 

Anyone goin to The Buck anytime? It would be cool to meet some toyota freaks once in a while. I'm planning goin to a tough truck/mud bog in the near future, I know someone runnin an 88 4runner want to see it.

 

I am wanting to take my son this summer if they have anything going on Sundays.
