Toshiba doesn't make good laptops as you can tell.

Also stay away from these brands: Gateway,Toshiba,Acer

Dell & HP are some of the best.

Stay away from refurbished laptops. I have had bad luck with refurbished computer components in the past.

You can get a better deal online. Go to Dell & configure a laptop.

Go with Dell. They seem more rock solid. I recently bought an HP and my dad bought a Dell. Comparing the 2 side x side, you can definitely tell his is more sturdy.

I think my HP LOOKS better but it wouldn't hold up to regular travel. His doesn't look as nice (not glossy) but it would hold up in the long run. I paid $1500, he paid $1200.

    GO WITH DELL.

Although a computer technician I know swears by Toshiba. Her reasoning is that parts are easier to replace on the Toshiba. HP and DELL do not sell their parts and it's not easy to replace things. My argument...I ain't fixing shit. If it breaks, I'll replace the whole thing!!!

x2 on the Dell. I've had a couple that have held up well. They've got the best tech support/customer service in the business too IMO. Had pretty good luck with Sony VAIO also:)

I just thought I would try this brand and luckly it f'd up within the 14 days, so I can get a full refund. I hate Best Buy too......... Don't know why I went there.

I had a Dell Laptop that I hated the metallic looking screen reflection and it lasted 8 days past the warranty, talked to a couple local computer shops an both said "Not surprised, buy a Toshiba" so I did and that was one of the best running machines I have ever had up until those asswipes that broke into my house a few weeks back decided they needed it more then me.

Will be picking up another Toshiba here shortly

Macs really are worth the money. I never used to see the hype with Macs until I started using them everyday in school. They are quite impressive!

Overall it's just faster and easier to use. Everything is simple. If you want to move things you just drag and drop them. My web pages load in a split second, regardless off the content. Microsoft programs can also be run on Macs (such as Word and Powerpoint) so that's a definitely plus. There's also a ton of cool features that are no where to be found on PCs. Macs are far more customizable. :)

I had a Toshiba before the MacBook and the Toshiba SUCKED!

I won't ever get a mac. Too expensive to get equal performance of a PC.

+1 on the lack of viruses on a Mac. I think that's what made my PC so slow. Well that and many other things. Right now I am on my MacBook with 4 programs running (iTunes, Safari [with 3 tabs open], iPhoto, and Mail) and there is absolutely no lag between the programs. That's something that a PC can't do.

I have been reading reviews of them on best buy web site and that is exactly what everyone else said. Hmmm....maybe I should try one. They are high in price but if it works, it's $$ well spent. OMG this keyboard is drvin me crazy!!!

My buttons didn't work on my Toshiba, but that was after 3 years, not 5 days.

Play around with a Mac in the store and see how you like it. A lot of people like them, and few don't.

In my opinion, Macs last way longer than PCs. My friend has an original PowerBook from 1997 that is still running great.

Stop looking at Pron. Btw, I have 8 Internet tabs open (don't ask), Ventrillo, CS, another game, and Itunes open without any lag. Mac doesn't get many viruses because it runs on an OS that isn't the most popular, just like Linux and others don't get to many viruses. If it were the most popular there would most likely be a lot more viruses.
