    Took my truck to a local shop called one stop and they finished up reinforcing the frame and fully boxing it and cleaning the frame up. Also got front hangers mounted for deavers

    You don't need to box under the cab. The frame is boxed from the factory all the way to the front bed supports. After that it's C channel to the tail. Right after the forward bed supports there's the factory crossmember that supports the gas tank.

    I was lazy and just did the TG box kit because I would have had to cut my bedcage out to plate that area and replace the crossmember. The TG kit starts just passed the crossmember and runs almost all the way back.

    They totally help, especially with deflection outwards on a hard hit.
    Frame plates are a good compromise. They are A HELL of a lot easier to do than boxing the frame and will satisfy most people's needs.
    Desert trucks...boxing for sure. I started with just frame plates and boxed later down the road.

    Second gens however...different story. First gen FTW!

    ok so these boxing kits. is it as simple as cleaning it up real good and making sure you are melting both the plate and the frame together? doesnt seem too dificult of a welding job? i mean obviously after u remove the bed and all the b.s. wiring and brake lines and shit
