Did some big boy hauling today.

All soil and grass dug up from the front yard. 2 seperate loads to the dump. Didnt realize how heavy it was until driving and wasnt about to shovel it hack out.

Not really sure what the exact specs of tacoma hauling are, but quick calculations are about 1400kgs of dirt

Then 31 bags of screening (30kg each) ~900kgs

Tacoma seemed to be ok, drive slow and delicate though.

Anyone know whay exact specs should be on these?
inside the door says 1435kg but i think thats vehicle weight?

First major load on bilstein 5100s (front and back)

Look up how much your Mustang and trailer weight together. You *should* have a 6500 pound tow rating, so as long as your Mustang and trailer don't go over that max, you should be fine. Just steady on the throttle and give yourself plenty of time to stop.

You are rated to 6500#. I would definitely use a electric brake, and sway control. Check out the stickies in the towing section.

WOW! My quick calculations put you at over 3000 lbs. Way over the max. of 1400-1500lbs. Might want to consider a trailer next time:rolleyes:

If It's an '09 GT with a manual trans, you should be around 3500 pounds. I just checked U-Haul's website and it wouldn't let me rent one with what you plan to tow. I'd head down to your local U-Haul and check with them on it.

Uhaul will not rent you the trailer if you tell them you are towing the mustang. Tell them you are towing a miata or crx, something lightweight.

This is my tacoma hauling a full ton of rock in the bed. It was riding on the bumpstops and I hope not to do it again but it was work and I got paid!!!! Definitely not a usual load for the tacoma. Going over bumps I could feel the load come off the bumpstops but it didn't slam back down. Pretty gentle

As you can see my customer has a taco as well. His was pretty clean for an 08'

Not trying to be a Dick, but that is WAYYYY too much weight for a Tacoma. There is a reason your customer didn't just do it with his own Tacoma. I'm sure your springs hate you, and you might even want to check the bed for stress cracks, with that much weight.

he was paying me to re do the landscaping and he is also about which is why he didn't do it. He told me he had more loaded in his at some point of owning his. No stress cracks. Bed did better than a steel one would have faired. Not a regular thing so I'm not too worried. Also my spring already hate me for towing 5 days a week with a 4k lbs trailer. The springs will be replaced when ready, which is sooner than most. Baby yours if you like, I bought mine as a tool

That looks like a half a yard, which would be about 1300-1500 lbs. It is not that bad.

Anyway, this a towing thread. There is a seperate hauling thread.

Towed this trailer to Jambo a couple weeks ago. The trailer was empty and had a dry weight of 3400lbs. The taco did just fine, but the twisty and hilly back roads made for a lot of rowing through the gears. The new brake controller paid for itself on this trip.

I don't have the factory tow package on my 2013 V6/auto.
Is the important part in this scenario a bigger transmission cooler?
    (and trailer brakes?)
