    It was April the forty-first
    Being a quadruple leap year
I was driving in downtown Atlantis
My barracuda was in the shop
So I was in a rented stingray
    And it was overheating

So I pulled into a Shell Station
They said I'd blown a seal
I said, "Fix the damn thing
And leave my private life out of it
    Okay pal?"

Incidentally, no bike pic visible (I'm assuming it was supposed to be in that big empty space?)

Think I've got a fouled plug or somethin. At low speeds, when I first get on the gas, I've got a slight hesitation. Sounds a little rough at idle, too. Ever seen what it takes to change the plugs in a 2007 GSXR 600? Gotta take the whole dang thing apart.

Yea...definitely is. I'm tryin to decide if I even want to dive into it, or drive it like 3 minutes out the road to the Yamaha Shop here in town and just let them do it.

Usually it's just a case of removing the gas tank and removing an airbox.

Motorcycle batteries aren't that big; routing a cutoff through the starter button for a huge power-suck like a headlight makes perfect sense from an engineering standpoint. Otherwise whenever you started the bike the battery would be trying to run the headlight and turn the engine over at the same time.

It's not too bad, just looks like a lot of crap. On my '08 GSXR, two allen bolts for the front seat, one bolt for the gas tank.
There should be a metal rod under the tank that will prop up the tank, then I think 6 screws or so for the airbox.
Then I think the coilpacks are right there, pull those out and you're at the plugs.

That sucks. New thru Honda? Or new aftermarket?
Reason I ask is that my Dad's got an '04 Shadow 750 that lives outside (uncovered but under a tree) exclusively during the summer and he's never had to replace any of the electricals. :notsure:

    That seems strange.
My Ninja and my Suzuki both came with special wrench units to let you pull plugs without pulling the tanks. Have you checked the tool kit to see if you can change the plugs without tearing everything off?

Edit: I feel as though I should point out that the Ninja's an '04 that was designed in the 80's and my Suzuki's an '06 that was designed in the 90's, which may have impacted the user-friendliness when it comes to repairs.

the switch was new honda thru HDL. its a problem on the vtx1800s. i really need to run a relay and then the power thru the push button wouldnt really have much of a amp draw at all.

My girl's in the shop. Gonna get the plugs changed and get an oil change while they've got it. And he said he'd check the fuel system to make sure it's clean and didn't get gunked up from gas over the winter.
