i have found no correlation between taking the time to write a well thought out cover letter and odds of getting my resume through HR scoring algorithms and into the hands of a human being

 

thanks for the advice. i will continue to put effort into it, but how that is received is, of course, very subjective. either way, i'm not putting much stock in my finding a job before i graduate

I have trouble getting hired as well. I look horrible on paper. All I have is meaningless customer service jobs and a bachelors degree in something I don't want to do.

Those lights are pretty cool though, wonder if he will have any residual memories of them when he is older

 

i don't think so, i've been very successful, especially in the last 2 years (3 publications and 1 patent)

i don't care, i'm the type of guy who will do just about anything and do it well.
there are only 3 things i care about now:
1) getting a home for my wife and kid
2) yard for my dog
3) having enough money left over for a cheap hobby (motorcycle, lemon's racing, whatever)

i'll do anything that pays well enough to get those 3 things

 

Thanks. I'll need to work on a cover letter for caterpillar. The new plant opened close to me in October. My future goals are to work in industrial safety or HSE. With it being a new plant there are many opportunities available.
