Just did this over the weekend. Got the rings from Mopar. Took all of 30-45 minutes to do. And that is with some stuck bolts too. Used a little fluid film on those and they popped out.
Thanks for the great write up on how to get it done.

All you're essentially doing is providing power to your blinkers. If you look at the harness plug that goes to you're blinkers then you'll notice that there's 3 holes 2 with wires and one without. If you stick a wire in the 3rd hole and put power on it the light should light up. I ran a wire from the right light to left light and then that back through the fire wall (on a switch so I can control it) and connected it to a fuse that is hot whenever I start the truck. I since changed all my blinkers to leds so you don't get melted lenses but have been running this for at least a year. I have a write up someone on here.

Edit. Here's the write up link I made. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/284817-dtrl-mod-x3.html

wow that was fast lol, thanks guys I have done the fog light anytime mod already and BHLM, so I wanna do something else now. I am about to run to auto zone because the corner/parking bulb are burnt out so i am going to get new ones and may get led blinker bulb if that will keep it from melting. Would led keep it from melting? I understand the wiring now so thanks!

    ***EDIT***
It appears that auto zone does not have that bulb(blinker) in an led so I may have to go somewhere else

Yes it will keep it from melting. But I'd advise not to go the autozone route for longs term use of the bulbs. They plain suck. They don't give you a 360* so it's directional. (Left autozone/right superbrightleds.com 360* bulb)

If you switch to leds you'll also have to do the resistor mod for it or change all your blinkers to leds (front and rear) and do the blinker flasher relay mod.
    Before with just the jumper

    After with 2 resistors

well this is more difficult than i expected, figured you could just put the led's in. Guess I'll order from superbright or somewhere like that then, Thanks!

*edit* could i just replace the parking bulb with regular halogen ones since they are burned out anyway and leave them on without melting the lens? How do you turn them on anyway?

I thought most turn signal LEDs had the resistors built in these days... :notsure:

I'm not sure about that and it might be some and not others but I know the corners would need a resistor.

Those are 2 .22 ohm resistors.

I work at Radio Shack and the lowest resistor that we have at my store is a 1 ohm
