Lol he went to California for the summer. I had to work today so his parents came to bring him to the airport and then they cleaned the apartment and packed up most of his stuff since I will be moving us out before he gets back.

You can not have anything transferred to you besides "Long Gun" unless you are 21+ in all 50 states.
In addition to handguns, you may also not buy a stripped lower, or a "cruiser" type shotgun, as they are both written up on the 4473 as "Other"
This started around 2008. The old 4473 did not have "Other" and anything that was not a handgun was written up as a long gun.

It was a double-edged sword. The "other" class now allows anyone anywhere except for California to build an AR pistol out of a stripped lower without violating NFA. In California, the California software still does not recognize "other" so the stripped lower is processed on the DROS as "Rifle", which would make using it to build a pistol a violation of California's own verison of the NFA.

You CAN receive a handgun, stripped lower, or "cruiser" shotgun at 14-18 depending on your state law if it is a gift from your parents or grandparents, but an FFL can not transfer it to you.

 

I-10 is 80 west of San Antonio.
The 85 limit is the toll road alternate to I-35 (H130).
