Can we just put the whole 28003 story out there for all of those concerned citizens who aren't in the know?

He started the whole thing with putting up a picture of me in his signature with the tagline "Martie sooo wants me" or something along those lines. Now, I had never spoken to this guy EVER, so I was bothered by it. It was also really big. Stupid drama ensued where he was asked to take it down and eventually, he finally did.

Since then it was fine but then he put up a signature about mjp2. Mike was just happy that the attention was off of me (which I had no idea why it was in the first place). Someone called 28003 out on it, saying that he should ask the permission of the person that he is putting in his signatures. All of a sudden, 28003 removed his signature, his avatar, all information in the sidebar and started deleting all of his posts.

There's apparently a rule that if you delete your posts, it's cause for being banned.

That's the story as I know it. I don't know what other rumors are flying out there but it's really getting out of control. I come here because it started off as a joke and then I started to get along with people on the site. I don't mean to cause any stupid drama because that's the last thing I'm interested in.

FWIW... I think it's OK to put a quote of somebody in my signature w/o first asking. I've only done it twice (once w/ Chris4x4, and once w/ the one currently there). Both times I told the person it was there, and would remove it if asked.

Of course, I didn't put a PICTURE of anybody in my sig. Just something funny that they said. I figure if they posted it, then anybody could read it anyway.

I would think if this were school there would be more pleated skirts involved...

Oh wait....

I think it's ok to put a quote..... but if they ASK you to take it down.... it's just respectful to do so, I would think. It shouldn't have to drag on. But that's just my opinion.

The quote about Mike was a bit over the top considering that he didn't know the man that well.

 

I fully agree. That's why I let them know they've "made my signature." I wouldn't want them to happen across it a month later and get pissed. I haven't had to, but I'd take it down immediately if asked.

There's PLENTY of good signature material around.
