Mine does this too. Pretty bad actually. I wasn't really worried about it b/c I just assumed if it assplodes it's under warranty, so.... Guess I'm a little naive. Didn't realize it would be such a hassle.

Glad it is moving forward. Before signing anything check the new truck out ensuring it is a match for what you had. Ie Sport model for a Sport. Year does not matter. BTW she is lying or other about "For legal reasons we have to order your truck EXACTLY as the 2013, we'll worry about the rest later." Nissan was willing to swap out the Xterra for a Frontier same trim level. Toyota CAN let you pick from dealer stock, same trim level and your good to go. They might ask you to pay more for the 14, but this is BS also. Refuse as you are already out of pocket and escalate to her supervisor. She will try and block this but start calling the board of directors here in the states and it will be resolved much quicker.

UN..FRIKIN...BELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!! Today is the first day that I drove my truck that I needed the A/C. Guess what.... IT DOESN'T WORK! Apparently it got jacked up when they installed the short block.

I called my Service Manager tonight after hours and left him a message. I need my truck Friday morning for a trip, sure would be nice to have A/C!

    :annoyed:

UPDATE: my Service Manager called me back around noon today, I was in his shop by 1:45, I was back on the road with working A/C by 2:45!

Kudos to Bob Massie Toyota for getting me down the road cool again. This does however solidify my thoughts on lemoning the truck for fear of future issues and problems.

Well. I;m a bit concerned. I have a 2013 that makes a similar noise. Figured it was normal and it's been in for two oil changes at the Toyota dealership and they didn't say anything, so i'd not been worried about it.

UPDATE #2: I received an email late today that my replacement 2014 is built and waiting to be shipped to my dealer!

Wow Hotrod, I hadn't followed the advancements in this thread for a couple of weeks and wow have things changed for you.

I'm very happy for you that corporate has stepped up to the plate in your case (Finally) and replace your truck all together. You have been through so many hours of nonsense and bullshit that you really deserve this. Too bad you had to go through as much as you did just together to this point. Your patience level is both greater and stronger than mine would have been given the situation. Me, I would have said fug it after the new motor sounded sour and tossed in a LS2, but that's me. It's not the best answer for most but if I own my truck at the point that the engine gives up or any other BIG mechanical failure that would cost me say,,,,,$3K or more, that's the route ill be going.

Best of luck with your new rig Sir.

nope, no new truck yet. I'm close to the dealership in my travels today and plan to stop by. I doubt that they have any news either. It was supposed to be ready for shipping over a month ago.

If this keeps up you need to ask for a 2015 model.

Stopped at the dealer today, they were notified that my truck was built and ready for shipping. He was as surprised as I that its been about 6 weeks since that notification.

I'm glad you got a new truck, finally.

I'm also glad you stuck it out and stayed with Toyota after your ordeal. Here's hoping your new 2014 gives you 15-20 years of problem free driving.

UPDATE: Mid Atlantic Toyota emailed me yesterday and said that my truck was on the way but because their "system" was down, they were waiting for a status update. Estimated time to taking possession is said to be 3 days to 3 weeks...huh? I found out today that it was already delivered to my local dealer and is sitting on his lot for 5 days. Apparently it was dropped off and no information was forwarded.

I'm currently waiting for their 3rd party Impartial Services Group (ISG) to go to the next step. Looks like we're getting close!

Canufixit... I think that you missed a bit of the history. All is well, I'll have my brand new truck next week, I'm still driving what will soon be their truck and it's not costing me anything, and the dealer has been stellar through the whole thing.
