Anyone know why the second gen Toytec AAL's don't fit the first gens and vice versa?

Their website makes it sound like they don't, I thought the springs were the same width though? Is it just because where the spring clamps are? Thanks in advance, I want to get rid of my AAL and give it to my brother with a first gen but I just want to make sure it's gonna work before making any promises. Appreciate the help!

Grey wire MOD, deck plate, diff breather MOD, 2nd gen. OME 883# on Tundra 5100's, OMD custom 3" leafsprings, rear shock relocation, Ivan Stewart TRD rims w/285/75/16's, '02 bumper MOD, Famous Fabrications sliders , LED interior/exterior lights, bed bar, Custom tube bumper, Old school KC day lighters,Red Ring 8" HID flood, Kenwood vhf 2M.. umm some other shit I'm forgetting right now

Thats half bullshit, it will fit but it won't be cut to an eliptical fit like 1st gen springs are, if you trim off 3.75" off 1 end , just like magic you'll have an eliptical AAL for a 1st gen..

To be a little clearer, if his 1st gen has the 3 leaf (which pretty sure it does) measure back 3.75" from the end of the bottom leaf (not the overload) thats where the end of the AAL should be cut to..

Trying to follow you man but the Toytec second gen AAL is quite short.

You're saying this AAL would need to be cut down for a first gen? It seems very short as is? Thanks for the response!

Good deal, I'll measure my leaf tomorrow am and let you know the deal. My hopes are it's long enough to work. The second gen Toytec AAL is symmetric, hope it's long!

No worries, my only concern is that my AAL is less than 24" per side... Which I think it is. If my judgement serves me correctly I would guess the second gen AAL is roughly 36" :notsure:
