I need that info too. I want a wilson antenna sick of my stupid firestik. If anyone needs a firestik let me know

 

so youve got a CB in your truck? did you install it?

 

I wired one up yes. At the moment I don't have one. Just the wiring. I have a cobra wx at in the box though

 

i hate wiring and thats the only thing turning me off of getting a CB

i wanna get this setup

 

Yea screw all that wiring. I'd rather use walkies at that point. Looks nice though.

 

My firestik works good but I haven't had it long, I got a 4' firefly.
I got together with Lee (TacoNoBaka) to tune it & didnt need to make any adjustments, it was like 1.6 on the swr meter.

I installed mine, its not hard. Mine had 3 wires & the antenna, its easier than a stereo.

I dont know if setting up a cb in a 1st gen is the same as a 2nd, but the only wiring I did with mine was the power cables through the firewall grommet to the battery then the Coax cable through the cab out the driver side back door and under the bed through the bed cubby hole thing to the antenna.

I think it took me about 30min to do the whole setup

 

That's the same one if I'm not mistaken that Mike uses and hates. He has had too many issues with it. I could be wrong, but I'm almost certain of it.

 

I already have one similar to that just gotta splice it into the cigarette lighter but I hate that aspect of things

 

That's easy peasy. Next time I see you and your truck I can do it within 30 minutes or less.

Yup. Although I'm not sure its the radio. I think I have a problem with my ground or antenna tune. Jess's seems to work just fine, but I'll be replacing mine with a NGP set up in the near future.

 

And the next 4r day is decided. There might be some TC lowers for you to install soon but shhh

they do installs and are really great

 

I get it. There are guys in the shop that don't like electrical stuff. I on the other hand tend to enjoy them for the challenge. But installing stuff like that is pretty easy to me. Unless of course, it involves repairing some of Greggs ghetto wiring and starting a small electrical fire. But I'm not saying that ever happened.....

Old ones were not so good the new ones are great. but you need a good antenna & some one like radcom to tune it for you

Some time over the next 30 days are so when we can all get make it, we need to do a 4r for Mike & Jess..
