was more or less talking to the guy who laughed at counter guy and left. I've also seen these threads snowball to attacks.

It is hard to understand when one dealer gives them away and the other charges $2.03 for the same washer. Someone behind one counter is purposely marking that washer up trying to fuck you.

if you dont understand that two separate companies can have different prices for the same item, i worry about you in this consumer market.

    X2.

Dealership near me charges 49 bucks for an air filter, and 39 for the cabin filter. Dealership 7 miles away charges under 20 bucks apeice for both filters.

Wow. I put 105,000 miles on my '06, and never used a new washer. Changed it every 5k. Never a drop leaked. 56k on my '10 and I'm doing it the same way. Huh. Must be magic or something.

So....what you are saying is that each dealer prices their parts according to what they feel the market in their area will sustain? My issue with this is as follows.....You go to a Burger King. You get a bullshit value meal, and its 5 bucks. 3 days later, you are a few miles away, and you remember "man....that bullshit value meal was good...Im gonna get another one", and you see a different BK. You go in...place your order, and the total is 15 bucks. MARKET PRICE BECAUSE WE FEEL THIS MARKET CAN SUSTAIN THE PRICE WE CHARGE! Its bullshit. Period. basically its this: Dealer "A" charges a fuckload of money for the same parts as dealer "B" because they think they can get it as the customer is already there, and needs the part. To this I say, Don't support that dealership. Order online, and save some cash.

I definitely agree it isnt right, why i said dont like it dont buy it. I was more stating how ignorant it is to say (not you) "well honda sells them for $xx.xx." Go buy them at honda then. I cant tell you how many unruly customers i've had to say "go buy it from them then". Then see them later in the month for another part and they try to kiss your ass because they NEED that part they're asking you about because its a Toyota specific part.

Also, i threw in washers to whatever oil filter i sold. You dont need to change them each change. I have seen some heavily bent and bowed washers because of quick oil changes or DIY genius' over torquing them causing leaks. Its not a mandatory thing and it doesnt leak, i wouldnt worry about it.
