I never really found anything all that cool (looking back) but at the time, when I was 13-14 we found some of the most raunchy porno mags ever in the woods. Presumably left behind by a logging crew. They were soggy from rain and falling apart....but that didn't stop us. At that age it may as well been $1M in cash

they certainly didn't believe in recycling back then!

very cool. I love old building and random, abandoned vehicles. I hope to hit up a few of the local ghost towns this summer to explore and document. Every year there's just a little bit less left of them it seems. :(

I think this qualifies as weird...funny too.
Found a toothbrush stuck in a beaver dam. Maybe the beaver is conscious of his dental health? :notsure:

I don't have any pictures, but I have found some cool stuff. When I was a kid at Fort Wainwright AK, I found a 500lb USAAF bomb. I was riding my bike on a trail in the woods right behind housing when my front tire hit something and flipped me. I checked to see what it was and new right away. Went and told my dad who was a SFC at the time and didn't think I knew what I was talking about. 10 minutes later, engineers and EOD were there. They were suppose to call to let us know about it, but never did. In the end, nothing in the paper and most of the people in the neighborhood didn't know about it.
When I was in my teens, I was clearing the woods on our property in GA. I came across a single shot 12ga that was broken up and a old rusty snub nose 38.

In hills along the Snake River on the OR side, there is a VW wagon with a dual carb Porsche motor. I was going to get it, the the land owner said no and closed off the trail.

I drive under this abandoned overpass almost every day - it's in NE Philly right where Rt 1 turns into Roosevelt Blvd, a 12 lane divided highway.

The overpass was once part of the long gone Byberry Mental Hospital.

The old road towards the overpass:

Mother nature is really doing her job - amazing how the trees are coming right up through the old curb.

There are 3 buildings remaining one is boarded up and fenced off to avoid further vandalism the other two house a rehab called the self help organization (they happen to be a customer of mine)

Here's where of the parking lots once was:

On the other side of the highway is Benjamin Rush State Park. There are two double arch stone bridges that still stand and span the Poquessing Creek They are from the 1800's and are closed to all but utility trucks for occasional maintenance.

Here's part of the old bridge paving too.

I love stuff like this.
