Haha 4Runners with well maintained springs. Stock springs don't last for shit.

A local 3rd gen friend of mine had 1/2" or less between the bump stop and his spring plate on the rear axle. It was ugly. It was only an 02 too

But I'm comparing 05+ tacos to 03+ runners. Not the first, second, or third gen 4Runner.

Oh wait so what your saying is that you need to change out your springs in order to prevent sag? That sounds vaguely familiar.

When I had my Xtracab I contemplating doing the so-called "Zuk" mod to get rid of the rear sag I had.

I never did get around to doing it, or finding a way to make sure the spring remained retained within the bumpstop / spring pack area.

Truck toyz in colchester, he's moving to rocky hill in a few weeks

 

My old man's 4wd Tahoe with the same engine is pulling 18 MPG, mostly backroad and highway, not a lot of traffic but does idle a lot. I guess it's feasible for a pickup to do a little better. I'd have him calculate it though, me thinks his electronic gizmos be blowing smoke up his back side blow hole. My electronic read out says I'm getting over 20 MPG also but calculated I'm at 18. Even if he's getting anything over 20 though, that's damn good for a V8 in my opinion.
