 I do both. solo backpack, and solo wheeling trips. Given a choice I much rather hike/backpack. I bought the Tacoma, so I could access trail heads that were deep into wild lands.

Once each year for sure, and if I'm lucky I get to do a second group backpack with about 10 very close friends into wilderness areas. I used to do one trip each month (mostly solo or with a friend or two), but when my first kid was born in 2010, that ended. Now it's mostly family camping / and multifamily adventure trips and they don't happen as often. It's especially hard having two small children, but we've turned a few corners at home, and it's getting easier now. THANK GOD. :)

Nice! Well I'll have to check that area out for when I get home and have time to do some solo stuff. Thanks!
Yeah my parents stopped doing backpacking trips until my sister and I were older but we were always into camping, at least, which is probably why we got back into backpacking as a family. I'll bet that as long as you keep up the family camping you'll eventually get into pack trips, as well. :)

Good luck. My wife told me it would be a few years before I can take our soon to be born daughter on any camping/wheeling excursions.

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
My truck and my baby girl were both 2 months old when we went for an 8-day deep back-country trip to GSE. About the only issue we had was that her tummy had had about enough dirt by about the sixth day -- she threw up (rather hard to keep bottles as clean as necessary when exploring dusty areas).
So long as you're prepared, camping with an infant isn't too difficult......but it sure does require a shit-ton of extra gear.

Thanks Amigos! We hit the road last night at 10:30. I drove straight through to Kingman, AZ (about 12 hrs) and the lil one slept the entire way!! What a champ. With record temps expected from Bakersfield through Needles (108 degrees in Barstow!) we knew we had to push on through or it would be miserable.

Now wifey is taking over and we're heading on to Flagstaff.

    My little road warriors!

Ready to roll again. Kingman, AZ

Sweet! I haven't tried mine yet, waiting a couple days for the glue to set. Good to know it flows well
