Well you can get your car stripped in new york city as well, its like everywhere, there are some bad parts and some good parts.... if you have a good alarm then you are most likely to be safe..... i think they go for older cars easier to open and no alarm, i tell you this because i had a vw bug with no alarm, one time i had all my sound system taken away....then i bought another new car they left it alone....

 

yeah thats what i figured. i figured it was like the rest of the world, good and bad places. like i said, i didnt mean any offense by it, just wondering. i bet you have a lot of great places to take trucks off-road down there. you ever take yours out and abuse it?

 

Lol not really..... its almost new, i have to loose a lil bit of love to it...... but there a lot of places to go nearby.... we have the Chihuahua mountains sierra tarahumara, copper canyon, there are a lot of trails there.... i have a cousin thats in a jeep club, they go a lot there....

I used to rip the front flaps off of my 91 Pickup and now my 2001 all the time. I still have the rear flaps on but my front ones are more trouble then they are worth. I work at a Toyota dealer and knoe the 2nd gen Taco flaps are not as easy to re-install. I would lose them if I had a 2nd Gen.

 

finally got another set in, and trimmed them up 5 inches and rounded off the corners. look pretty damn good too....no pics yet though.

 

That would be awesome! I'm not trying to give merit to stereotypes but i do have a question about rumors i've heard. I've had multiple people tell me that if you visit mexico never drive your car down there, especially anything with mods (lifts, rims stereos etc....) cause it will get stripped. I'm not trying to say that all Mexicans are criminals or anything like that, i have just heard that sometimes locals will prey on us gringo's. is there any truth to that? are there just certain areas like that?[/QUOTE]

it all depends on where u go...where you leave ur car

cars get stripped anywhere especially if u leave it in an unattended place. if the opportunity is available people will take the chance...for the most part ive taken a new jeep down there and no problem in a week ill be taking my tacoma for the first time down there since i just got it last friday
mexico right now is kinda sketchy in baja since the tijuana drug cartel are fighting over leadership

but to be honest if u go down there be cool...dont attract unnecessary attention to your self and dont think because ur an american ur untouchable and dont be a dick.
the majority of the time its cool down there the guys who get pinched are the guys who get drunk and act a fool or if u have a nice car and the cops feel like getting some money

So, on the same topic, is there a source for Toyota Tacoma Rubber mud flaps. These would fold back and also help to protect drivers behind and the paint.

I'm not looking for generic. Looking for Rubber mud flaps to fit the Tacoma.
