Thanks man. Benchmade sent some regular coyote paracord with which to wrap the handle with but I've got some desert digi camo paracord I'm going to use instead. Should turn out pretty cool. I'll post pictures once I'm done.

I didn't give credit to the image because I had no idea who's it was since I didn't look at the URL. I just Google Image searched to try to find the best illustration of what I was trying to explain (poorly) and that was the first one that came up that made it easier to understand what I was saying. Now that I know he's got some good tips I'll check it out. You're never too old or experienced to learn a new trick that makes life easier/better. ;)

Just ordered the rest of the stuff to finish the parts needed for my LR-308 build from midway, brownells, and Amazon (tools included). looking forward to my class on it. Also ordered a hornady auto charge scale to replace the cheap scale I have now. Will hopefully speed up my reloading rate now

lol, I actually came across it by accident as well - was searching for something completely unrelated and thought "I've seen that pic somewhere" -- clicked the link and found a few addtl. articles from the guy. Great step-by-steps and tips that will likely help out a few others.

Any reccomendations on a carbine conversion to put like a magpul stock on an AK47, and a front rail? Nothing too crazy just want to get rid of the wood!

Tons of options out there. Midwest Industries has a few different rails available. There's a few options for a 6-position stock buffer tube conversion depending on if you want fixed or folding.

Here's one of my AK's wearing an Ultimak rail if you don't need a full quad rail and just want something to mount an optic to.

I like that rail, but still need something for the lower part as well. Was thinking about going with the Magpul MOE fixed carbine length stock like I have on my AR15.

Like I said, Midwest Industries will likely have all you're looking for. I was just giving you an option for just the top rail since it's not as widely known as the full quad rail which everyone and their dog seems to make for the AK47. I prefer my AK's to be as clean as possible and am not even sure they need a RDS. I like the M4 stock adapters by ACE and prefer their folding model.

I just ordered a Better Mag for my brothers AR-22 that has tons of feed issues. He is so frustrated with it he left it at my house. I have a 15-22 and plenty of mags for both of us. I am hoping that it clears up the feed issues. If not I will be hitting the AR BS thread for some troubleshooting advice.
I also ordered a couple more mags for my SR22PBT.
