What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Finished painting frame, and plasti-dipped rear bumper.

 

Does it run in the rain?

 

Pressure washed the undercarriage and did a Fluid Film undercoating, then washed, clay bar, wash, dry and wax.

 

What did you use to paint frame and what steps?

 

Installed some Depo black tail lights today.

 

Haha i know right.. Got some Bruce CDs and a little Aerosmith.. All the technology these days and CDs are still my go to I'll put songs on my phone one day but unit then, CDs FTW!!

 

Those look good. eBay right? I have not seen them anywhere else. Great price too. I wish I knew if they held up over the long haul. But for the price and the good looks probably worth a shot. Still on my watch list.

 

They say my axel is leaking grease. I would think just like this. it cost $412 at dealership to fix.

 

Being a 2010, Isn't your truck still under warranty? Or are you past 60k? Do you see grease all over in your wheel well?

Either way you can change the whole axle for 1/4 of that! Or change the CV Boot for even cheaper if you want a bit more complex job.

 

Yea I got them on Ebay for $135. They seem to be pretty well made. I hope they last for awhile. Only time will tell!

 

Installed my new coilovers and uca's last night

 

I started by wire wheeling and using sand blaster paper from advanced. Then did 2 coats of rust stop,then 2 coats of rust preventive primer, and then just a few coats of 96 cent can flat black from wally world. Figure ill have to touch up next year so no reason to buy expensive paint and its nice to have a few cans around.

If you need any more info feel free to ask. I can post pics of the rust stop, primer and paint if you would like.

I got this question a few times maybe ill do a write when I do the rear axle if you guys would like. I've been taking a pics of progress anyway

Installed Jumper LED Interior lights and Parking lights but one fell off so I only installed one side... white passenger and amber driver side ... lol

Asked this in another bs thread that I'm in, but I'd like others opinions as well, is there a dark silver wheel out there that is lighter than anthracite/gunmetal, but darker than say OEM silver wheels?

 

That is why I went with vleds corner lights instead, brighter and darker amber/orange than csjumpers, his are still better than incandescent stock though
