I definitely appreciate it. Long travel does sound tempting lol

Nice. Did you sell it as a private party or to a dealer?

Did they question the accident on the carfax report?

Have them check if the ABS computer is OK. If its shorted/damaged, thats another 3 grand or so to replace.

I've seen worse get repaired and I've seen less get totalled.

It all depends on what they find once they strip it down and see what is damaged and how badly.

    Glad your okay OP.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
If its totaled, you can generally buy it back with money to spare from the insurance check and put that to repairs.

That looks similar to my damage. Mine has rear axle damage too from what I saw.

What year was yours? Trim? And miles?

Curious how much they gave you... You can PM me if you want

Good thing your ok, but that poor beautiful truck you had. Its a shame that plate bumper didn't cripple that durango's structural integrity or rip the whole side off. She doesn't deserve it

    Thanks man.

Actually the truck that hit me was a gmc Yukon which had headlight damage and front bumper damage. I hit the Durango after the collision when my axle broke and I slid over to the left lane hit the durangos door at like 5-10 mph. Did that much with very little speed.

Make sure you show them the quotes that you got for trade-in when you were looking at buying the BRZ/FRS/WRX.
If they don't total it, there's no way in hell you'll get close to that value now.
Demand a cash payment for the diminished value... you may or may not get it, but it never hurts to push for it.
If they do total it, that will also tell them that you KNOW what the truck is worth.

But generally, damage has to be 60-75% of the value (so in your case better than 15k) before they will total.
My Tundra had similar body damage and that was about 5k... that leaves 10k for your suspension and frame, and it is possible to pull a frame out. Hell, they might even replace the frame.

Yeah I got all the paper work still. Thanks for the idea

I also got a lawyer to help me handle all this. Hopefully it expedites things.
He referred me to a doctor to check out my back and to make sure everything is okay.

Like others said if Frame is straight your good. Problem with the bumper is its not dented so it took the impact and could have sent it down along the frame. Look at the crinkle zones on the frame.

    Reserected from the dead.
Not really, just points in the frame that are designed to fold.
