I'm going to try and change my pilot and main jets to 42.5 and 130 this week. We'll see. I may just take it in. I just hate to pay someone but it is a huge hassle for me haha

Thanks, man. Glad to see there are others who value their siblings so much. It's a cool bong that some people, unfortunately, miss out on due to various reasons.

I need to get back on my bike build thread.

    Just ordered:
-Jetting kit with shims for the jet needle
    -UNI air filter
    -16t front sprocket
    -wider/better footpegs
    -Handguards
-New Tires. I decided to go with Avon Distanzias. These were not my first choice. They were not even my fifth choice haha BUT I decided not to motard my little Yami out yet so they will get me by while I use it as a commuter.

Someday in the future it'll get a rear wheel laced to the front and some Michelins

Nice, haven't been here for a while. By rear laced to front, what does that mean?

Ohhh, okay, but seeing this thread makes me wish I got a cool old truck for a lot less money and then do awesome things like you did. I would love the retrofits and some Angel eyes/halos.

I think I'd opt for the WR250X personally but both are pretty fun.

I had a 2012 and picked this up as a side project. Next think you know I was never driving the new one. Started to not lie it at all compared to this. So I fixed this up and sold the other to a good friend who was in the market.
    I love this truck. ha

For the about same money as a wr250, i can have the 400 and i know i'd get bored with a 250. Ultimately, i'd like to have a wr450 supermoto but i don't have mad money haha

I want a CB500X for commuting but it's just not practical so I'm sticking with my old dual sport XT225 for now haha

Yeah I was pretty set on a V-Strom 650 for a long time. Just wished it was a little smaller for my small size. Then the CB500X was announced and I was like, oh hey, there's my smaller V-Strom ha someday maybe . . . Stinks that riding season here is all of three months if we're lucky and those three will be overly windy and stormy ha woooo!

Sucks that riding season started and i still has no bike. Would you buy a brand new cb500x or try to find a lightly used one? If i was going for a brand new bike, i'd want an fz-09 or a Ninja Zx-sex 636 lol probably both too much for me being a beginner but i can dream

My cautious/frugal side keeps coming back to the CBX over the FZ-09.

I'd take either used or new but new will be easier to find.

Dual Sport is a good call. really so versatile. Even an SM with some good tires can do a lot.

What models do you have in mind? What kind of experience do you have as far as time and bikes, etc? I grew up on dirtbikes so as much as I love cruising on a big bike it's just not as fun for me as something small and nimble. Which is why I never sold my 2006 Yamaha XT225. Simple little thing, but it gets me around town and get's good mileage doing it.

My experience is about a year of neighborhood TERROR (lol) on a drz125. It got me hooked and now i want to go further.
I am currently desperately trying to get into my local college's Basic Rider Course so i can have a better head on my shoulders before just getting the permit and go out thinking i know everything. I'm 6'1" 180lbs so a 250 isn't exactly my first choice since i am keeping in mind that i will have some interstate travel. Thats why i'd like to have a 400(klx400/drz400s or sm). I've been considering 650s (dr650,xr650,klr650) but they weigh another 30-50lbs more and don't seem to have quite as much aftermarket love as the 400 and i don't think i need quite that much power. My brother had a dr650 and he described it as heavy and you had to throttle the piss out of it to get it where you wanted to go but it always went, while shredding the back tire of course...

DRZ should be plenty for ya for a long while. Super fun bikes.

If you've got a penny or two there's always the KTM 500 EXC ha
