So I thought all 09+ tacomas came with backup camera/mirrors. Looking at a 2010 base and it doesn't have it.
So, is it possible to add it in with just the tailgate handle that has the camera and the mirror? Or, are the wires not going to be there and it require splicing, cutting, etc....?

I searching for a link showing the correct routing of RCA wires from a camera to the head unit.
I have a single cab base model and am going to use a aftermarket camera.
    Anyone got a link?

Don't bother with the 2010 mirror cam, it is almost useless. It's like looking through the peep hole in the front door of a house.

Are you sure the wiring is not there? It may be wired, I thought some 2009's and most 10's were prewired just no cam's in mirror's. I think you can drop the headliner by the mirror to check.

When I was buying my truck I was looking online and said, "there is no way I am paying for that backup camera. It's stupid." Then I found a video online from the marketing geniuses at Toyota that shows using the camera to hook up to a trailer (I tow a lot) and I instantly had to have it. If you tow, the camera is the balls, bag and the twig.

Most trucks have the wiring already, even the base models. Do not bother putting it into the mirror, it's small and not easy to see. The Tacoma radios have a spare input for this, that's the way to do it.

I just removed the aftermarket kit that puts the backup cam in the radio from my 2013, my 2014 has it in the radio already. I have the kit for sale in the marketplace, all you should need is a camera for the tailgate to complete the setup.

    Here's how its installed:
