I decided to put some red LEDs in the hood scoop and it came out pretty good. Only problem is that at first some people thought I was a cop so they pulled over for me... Can write a how to if people want. What are your thoughts?

You should check your local laws regarding what color lights you are legally allowed to run on a civilian vehicle.

Locally we are not allowed blue of any type. This is reserved for law enforcement and emergency vehicles. The state snow plows run blue flashing lights as well.

Best case, you get pulled over and warned. Worse case, an over zealous DA brings impersonating an officer of the law charges.

I only say this as you've already have people pulling over believing you're law enforcement or similar.

Other than that, I like them.

I suggest the KITT lights from Knight Rider.

Edit: the fact they are separated causes even more doubt about the legality.

Been pulled over before but cop didn't mention anything about it, and I actually put a knight rider LED in the grill yesterday

Would be better with a white led color...or amber.

I have been driving around like this a night for about a year now. I have not been stopped or hassled.

Of course I do not have the lights in the hood scoop scanning or flashing while I'm driving. That would invite trouble.

ALL cars are REQUIRED to have RED stop lights and RED and YELLOW side markers. Any other color is a violation. :notsure:

That's why BLUE is restricted in Colorado and many other states.

Many states won't allow a particular shade of YELLOW paint due to school buses.

Wow. For a minute there I thought I had been redirected to a Honda Civic website.
I had to double-check that I was still browsing TW.

Have fun with your blinky christmas tree lights.

I have the lights for about 3-4 months now and have never been stopped for them. I'm pretty sure you cannot have moving lights in the front but I think stationary are ok

I like my "blinky" lights. They are however, a bit more sophisticated than Christmas tree lights. (I wrote the program that controls them) :p

Oh...and I will have fun with them :D
