Points in the frame that are designed to fold = Crumple Zone.

I was hit, needed two all new doors, new bedside, and major work on my rocker panel, damage came out to about $8k. So throw in frame or suspension issues and you're getting pretty high up there.

My money is on totaled. Front and rear axle and suspension damage plus body damage gets pricey, even if the frame is fine.

I went through this last November. Insurance wanted to total mine and I ended up letting them total it and bought it back at next to nothing. I got an extra $1000 for the mods at the time of the accident and sent the adjuster multiple emails to stay on the same page with what I wanted and its Still my daily driver. The adjuster will probably want to total it based on my last experience. I thought the damage was minimal and it turned out to be no more than cosmetic but the damage on yours is quite a bit of $$$$ when it comes to new OEM Tacoma parts and labor. Either way, glad your safe and don't let insurance make you feel like you don't have more say than they want you too.

My truck was in two accidents one totalling 6K the last on was 7K. She's a beast, you might be surprised on the outcome. Mine was body damage only though.

I had something similar happen to me 3 weeks after I bought my brand new 2014 taco. It was mainly impacted on the bed and rear axle and the guy spun me into another car. Ended up only being 4600 worth of damage. Two weeks later and a lot of phone calls to the repair shop I drove her home. Nice lookin truck too man, hopefully they won't total it.

    Sub'd for out come tho.

    Update:

So the cosmetic damage the estimator had was $6,000 not including anything mechanical damage. (Suspension, axles or frame)

He did not factor in the plate bumper and aftermarket coil overs , control arms, wheels or tires in his estimate.

The owner of the body shop confirmed that the frame is twisted in the front. He said he would recommend replacement of frame.

I spoke to my attorney and told him I do not want the car back. Let's see what the insurance says once they start taking it apart and racking up mechanical costs.

Ahh accidents are a pain in the ass to deal with

    I hope I get a new truck

Glad everybody is safe! I can't see the pictures because I'm at work but from skimming the thread it sounds like all is not lost on the truck, but if it is you may consider parting it out to maintain some $$$

$6000 so far, but you haven't got a quote for a new frame plus labor to swap it out? I'm betting you will be way past $15k to fix that truck.

I never say never, but you might as well plan on that truck being totaled.

This is true. Also have to factor in storage fees at the shop and how long work will take. Plus the rental

Guess I will just have to wait and see

I wish I could take parts off the truck right now but I have to wait till I get word from the insurance company

I dont think insurance companies cover aftermarket parts unless you call and have them added to your insurance. A couple friends do claims for allstate and have had to deal with this a few times.

Also a friend of mine put about $30k cash into his Rubicon and then rolled it. All the aftermarket stuff was added to the insurance before the wreck and that was his only saving grace
