No. I simply suggested you should start educating yourself about how the nervous system and other associated systems work aswell as what communication is. I suggested where you should start at, maybe I should have suggested some reasearch into sensory deprivation.
I guess when you're in the bath tub you can't hear, see, feel, taste, smell, ect. Maybe that is why you're confused.

If you want to argue nonsensically, be my guest. It's cool because it only weakens you.

Good night. I have more reading to do on more important in the morning. I highly encourage you to read something other than TacomaWorld, even with how great it is.

I think the important part of the "sensory" is for you not to assume it be the touch and feel (your added somatic), I'm refering sensory being sound and communicating.

The bathtub reference is just part of the ongoing talk to compare an aquarium to... lighten up, I think you get that part even.

As far as the boycott on website, I feel its just trying to gain from the news article, I wasn't going to go back to SeaWorld anyway, but not as a function of joining the boycott.

p.s. for you surgie, when you say do something more than read TW..... you failed big time. I've not done but 2-3 posts in 8 -10 months due to not even being on. But that's what intentional troublemakers like you do , just stir it up I guess.

Aparently you missed this part "They take large portions of the profits they're making and use it to help conserve wildlife habitats and rescue and rehabilitate thousands of animals every year. Without the parks and the shows within it Seaworld would not have the capital to achieve this."

Never seen the movie, dont care to, I dont support capture of any creature that resides in the wild be it land or sea to be exploited for profit educational or otherwise... Ok that said... there is countless documented cases of the staff of Sea World standing up & rescueing all types of Aquatic animals, harbor seals, california spotted & brown seals, birds, dolphins , ect; bring them back to health & DID reintroduce them back to their original environment, & at least here in San Diego, theres Mission bay which is one of the largest if not the largest aquatic park in the U.S. if not the world, so that means alot of people alot of boats personal watercraft & wild life like seals & other life are getting knocked around like pinballs & where do they get taken to obviously for treatment....

Not supporting them either way just showing the ying of the yang they have done some good things as well surprised no one else even gave it a thought.. sounds.kinda biased

I didn't miss it, it's the fact that they are exploiting natural, wild animals in order to profit themselves. Honestly, it's the principle that I'm just driving at, Orcas are essentially trapped stage performance animals. The subject was Orcas, not how "large portions of the profits"(which bear in mind they give no real number to gauge this portion of profit they are donating, just stating they they give away profit and enhancing your perception by adding large) goes to conserve wildlife habitats, which if they do great. Not at the expense of innocent animals that are trapped against their will.

No. Conflating Seaworld with zoos is a misdirection. A more appropriate comparison would be between Seaworld and a non-traveling circus. An aquarium is in essence an aquatic zoo.

I'm glad to see there are more people on my side of the debate. Let's just put it this way. I don't think seaworld should have any whales captured from the wild. But those born in captivity have always known captivity. Seaworld does a lot of good in the world, and without the shows to make money, there would be no saving. If we have to release the whales, then every captive animal needs to be set free. And on the subject of zoos, almost every animal at my local zoo has been injured and can no longer survive in the wild. They have a ton on birds of prey, included bald eagles, that can no longer fly due to getting shot by irresponsible hunters

Too bad Sea world couldn't have a much larger area/pen like an inlet to hold them so they could be in a more realistic place. Half mile long gates or nets might be a problem.

I think it should only be used to rehab animals or shelter ones that might not survive if released.

I read something about there being a huge dolphin pit somewhere that was open to the ocean. They had several shallow pools, a deep pool in the middle, and then a connect to the ocean. It was used to rehabilitate dolphins. And guess where they spent most of there time. Huddled up in the shallow pools. When they're getting free food, they don't wanna leave

I don't need to learn anything to understand that keeping Orcas in captivity is wrong .

    Semantics

Depriving social animals of social contact with others , restricting their movements to a fraction of what they do daily in the wild

    It's deprivation

So , to follow your logic , a human test tube baby could be kept for it's entire life in a room with 4 or 5 other test tube babies , never allowed to leave , and that would provide no ethical concern to you because it " never knew any other enviornment "

Just like how people born into slavery don't know any better so it's okay right??

Slavery, racism, sexism, gay rights, the next movement will be speciesism and you sir will be exposed for what you really are.
The days of exploiting other living creatures are coming to an end. We all reap what we sow and after that comment I'd personally be worried about my next life.

Anyone who cares, check out the video Earthlings. Should be available on YouTube. It exposes these people for what they are, and illustrates the despair their responsible for in the world

Seaworld employees state in the film that Orcas live 20-25 years

As for the age of wild Orca I provided these links I guess you missed

with regard to the estimate on Granny's (J2) age , you said you couldn't even find a mention of photos from the 30's and 40's of J2 , but it's right in a few of the links I provided which I guess you didn't bother to read

" Harris said Granny’s birth date of 1911 is an extrapolation by researchers based on her offspring.

Granny currently has a great-grandchild travelling in J-Pod.

Pidcock said researchers also determine age based on the size of the whales, and Granny’s current bulk can be compared to photographic images of her dating back to the late 1930s and early 1940s. "

    Yeah, those stupid Japs, right?
I don't like seaworld holding an animal that usually travels 6000 miles in a couple of months, as part of his routine. That's just mean. I don't like animals at the zoo, either. Being caged up, denies them their ability to do what comes natural to them.
My dogs have always been free to leave. They are not held against their will. If I'm outside and they are not on a leash, they may run after a cat or something, but, they always come back. That's what they are bred to do, be our companions. I'm pretty sure orcas have not evolved to please crowds and have people in wetsuits stand on them.
