    Hey!
I have a brand new 4-door trd sport
I have a clicking/snapping noise in the seat back when I lean back.
Dealer has told me the noise is normal but it's not.
Wondering if anyone has run into this before I disassemble the seat my self
    Thanks

It is probably the active head rest support moving. It is supposed to move, but not make excessive noises... Mine doesn't.

Is it like a creaking springy sound? Or does it sound like fabric is tearing?

This something coming from the par you sit on, lean against, the brackets/rails? We need more detail here.

It's a spring or a piece of plastic
I have put a shop rag in between spring webbing and the
Foam core and it has calm down a lot.

I have noticed the same thing as well - not so much when I "lean" back into the seat but when I push back into it.

My seat makes that noise once in a while. Hasn't bothered me enough to take the trip to the dealer about it though.

I would go back and speak to a different advisor...it's under warranty, so the advisors are making money on it...never understood why they wouldn't approve it.

Mine makes a noise like something is hitting the base of the seat...like a bottle rolling or something. I can't figure it out cuz it doesn't do it all the time, but eventually when I have time off I'll start trying to track it down.

    A little a this, a little a that...
My lumbar support makes a noise when my weight shifts side to side. It's like a creek or pop. Started before 5k miles. Dealer said it was normal but then had a Toyota rep out to check it out. They greased something and the noise went away but came back in about 3k miles. I'd like to know if anyone with the trd seats doesn't have this problem so I can take this thread back to the dealer and shove it up their ass.

Mine does this but I just live with it since it as an 06 and way out of warranty.

Toyota should be ashamed of the seats they put in these truck, if they were any cheaper they would be milk crates. I have notice a creek or pop when cornering or hard braking or hard accl. On my truck it is coming from a piece of plastic on the drivers side of the seat where the air bag wiring harness attaches to. I think it is the plastic push pin that holds the plastic trim to the seat is what is making noise. Also the fabric on these seats is garbage, wrinkles like crazy.

You are right, everyone gets paid to repair warranty stuff. The problem is when the warranty dollars get to high with the manufactures, the dealers start to worry about getting audited by the manufacture. So the dealers don't want to fix anything unless they have to or you push real hard.

Love my truck, but the seats are junk and Toyota knows it and doesn't care.

Might be looking at a 2017 Ford Raptor when they come out for better quality, but don't really want a full size truck either.
