Just stop the breeding program now , freeing the existing whales is most likely not an option

and most certainly , capturing more Orcas in the wild is certainly not supportable , unfortunately Russia has resumed that too

Are you saying a wild wolf can be taken in and raised as a companion? That's absurd to think you will get a wild wolf to act like a domesticated dog. I know people that have had wolf hybrids, and those suckers barely take to domestication. I'm sure there could be the one or two exceptions, but to answer you question, no, wolves have not evolved to be companions to man.
In fact, reading your response more, I'm not sure you understood my comment. Monkeys are kept in pens to make money and make sure they don't run around the zoo, ripping people's fingers and genitals off.
    Aloha.

So , you're OK with the test tube baby scenario I suggested earlier ?

People are so ignorant. It's simple keeping animals caged for human enjoyment is wrong.

You know, I'm starting to see your point of view now. Jesus said all animals are here for our enjoyment/devouring, so why not include the biggest and baddest. Jesus would want me to get on my kayak and try to harpoon one of these selfish pricks swimming near my home. Since I'm japanese, I could also eat it, as you suggested earlier. I'll catch two of them with my homemade net, eat one, and put the other in my pool. I'll bring out the flatscreen, so the whale can enjoy Dancing with the Stars, like they do at seaworld.

aren't dogs the same family as dogs? I'm sure dogs evolved over time to be companions to man.

what I'm trying to get at is an animal can be an animal no matter what. Humans are humans and we can't change others if they don't want to be changed, same as you, you wouldn't want to be changed if you believe in something as it being right.
It's kinda like a puppy being taken from its mother before it can learn the ways of a dog, is it wrong. perhaps we should make it illegal to keep anything as a pet.

it's okay to keep them caged so they don't harm humans, right?

Ok with it? No. But that's still the only thing they know, they don't know anything else, so they wouldn't know to be sad. But my comment was just saying, releasing the captives I don't think would be an option, because everything needed to survive in the wild is learned, they're not born with it

No , your comment previously was that whales born into captivity don't know any better so it would be OK to keep them captive , but you're apparently not OK with these scenario for another social animal

Well you need to remember that inside genetically & in many ways instictively also, every domesticated dog you see is a wolf, this is something that will not change but will have offspring of other variants (thats how different breeds develope) Point is, under certain enviromental conditions ANY mammal , no matter how domesticated appearing can revert to what we as hominids call instinctive behavior, which I've always felt that humans give themselves way too much credit, the line between what we consider normal social behavior & instinctive genetically inherit behavior (primal, survivor instinct) is a thin one...

We did not hunt and cage dogs and force them to learn tricks. Wolves followed humans and would feed of the scraps from the game humans hunted. Eventually humans and wolves/Dogs hunted together and humans allowed the dogs to come and go freely from the camps. The wolves or dogs would also keep predators away at night. It was a mutual beneficial partnership. This is how many scientists believe humans and dogs began the relationship . So you can't compare Orca's and wolves/dogs. It's like comparing apples and oranges.

No offense, but that statement is so much bullshit.

If I'm comparing apples to oranges, you're in the back still trying to figure out which is which
The domesticated dog is a result of us fucking with mother nature as always, I dont know where you get your info but it sounds theoretical, a bit devoid of factual.. Example: German Shepperds come from Germany, would you agree with that? Weimaranars are from Germany, would you agree to that ?

& Rottweilers are no doubt, from Germany, would you lastly agree this is correct ?

All from the same region , All dogs, All genetically linked with wolves

    Totally different in appearance, temperment/behavior

How do you think this happens anyway ??

Sadly you misunderstood my post. I was pointing out that dogs interactions with humans are different than Orca's. One is hunted captured and held and forced to learn tricks and live in small pools.. While dog and humans had a mutually benefited relationship. Yes we breed dogs to change the size and behavior this has created many breeds. Shit maybe I misunderstood your post I don't know..
But I got my information from reading about the origins of dogs and humans relationship.

Wow, wrong right out of the gate.... also I was responding to someone elses post not yours, but since you want to talk, Wasn't even in reference to Orcas.... If you read what i posted, you'd know it was about behavior All mammal behavior & you do realize that wolves are PREDATORS THAT PREFER FRESH OVER RANCID MEAT, sorry for the caps just making sure you can see

Jeeezus... Let me make it easy, see man, see man catch wolf.. wolf captured.. see man, see man catch fox, fox in heat, wolf dont care what species, wolf gonna get laid... you see where this is going ?

Who gives a fuck if dogs are a genetic experiment by man or not , it certainly didn't happen in one generation , which is the basis for some posters' arguments towads keeping captive born whales
