I heard it would be a Diesel / Electric hybrid like Toyota uses in the Hino

Why would they go with cummins when they already have their own?

Hmm....never heard of an XJ Cruiser (mentioned numerous times) and the fact it is written like a 5yo wrote it leads me to believe squat about that website.

And here comes the first $50k Tacoma. Yeah I guess? Will probably be super restricted to the overpriced Limited trim, no manual option etc....

As a previous Cummins owner, would rather a Cummins under the hood .vs Duramax, Powerstroke or even Toyota 'a own oil burner. Cummins is the "Toyota" of the diesel world. Win/Win if you ask me. I just don't believe they could do it cost effectively, Tacomas are already grossly overpriced for what you get.

They don't build one that meets the USA specs.

I think it all depends on how the gm twins do.

the site says " they have they finest sources of 2016 Toyota Tacoma spy"

dlx is right about the sloppy writing. It seems to me they know people want info, real or not, so they make a site for it. "moth to the light ensues" and their hits go up and they sell ads. imo

I think Toyota has too much pride to sub out something like an engine.

I know they considered CAT for the tundra way back when, which I think would be awesome, but I fear anything to come out regardless of manufacturer these days will be pretty cheasy compared to the diesels of yesterday.
