    The situation:
    I am installing my new retrofit headlights with D2S 3.0 Projectors and halo's. They are wired and lights are mocked up. When testing the lights initially only the halos and parking / DTRL worked. I re-grounded the ballast and the projector lights up when lights are turned on as planned. Unfortunately this is where the problem is.

    When the light is turned off, the projector remains on until either the battery is disconnected or I unplug the H4 harness from the oem harness.

    Hi-lo beams both work.
    Fog lights work independently
    Grounds appear to be good

    Installation Comments
    - Morimoto wiring harness used, connected hot lead to battery, ballasts hidden next to headlights and grounds double checked
    - Halos connected to parking lights using separate harness (using corner light as relay signal)

    What I have done
    - checked grounds
    - checked connectors to Motorcontrol box, ballasts,
    - put factory bulb in the oem harness. It operates as designed
    - checked all connections.

    Help please....not sure where to go from here.

    Update

    I have been using the H4 harness and apparently for the newer trucks you need to use the MOPAR harness. Will repost with results when it arrives...

    wish me luck (I am not expert with the sparky stuff)

    Just curious, what is a mopar harness? Did you not use the motocontrol bixenon h4/9003 harness provided?

    First I've ever heard of that. A buttload of kits have been sold for old and new trucks without issue.

    I'd call TRS or send them an email. It sounds like there is a problem with your relay box.

    Mopar = Chrysler OEM
    Bowtie = Chevy performance OEM, otherwise AC/Delco
    Motorcraft = Ford OEM

    I sure did use the h4 harness with motocontrol. This solution is actually being recommended by TRS. Hopefully it works out.

    Rich - any other suggestions to try? I have used a bunch of your advice from here in the past with good results (thanks!)

    If that is what TRS is recommending, then that's the way to go.
    Interesting this is the first we've heard of it.

    Some of the earlier Toyota pickups and 1st Gen Tacomas used ground-true switching so two wires had to be reversed in the harness.
    Could be the same issue.

    Got cha :thumbsup:

    OP, I have a 2012 and I didn't use a mopar harness. I'm with Rich, it could be your relay. Interested to see the outcome

    Thanks guys. Also wondering if it is possible to eliminate the DTRL down at the lights (rather than under the dash) while maintaining turn signals? I've got the halos wired to replace them and just want the halos on (not both)

    I have the three wire DTRL harness with white, green and yellow wires

    OK so got it sorted out. So it was not the Mopar harness (I admit it did not make any sense)

    TRS hooked me up with the canbus harnesses and it worked like a charm. Stay tuned for outputs

    Yeah I ordered the Canbus harness from what others had "used"...I could a slight humming and I had a lot of flickering when the ballast were warming up. After more re search and talking to someone from trs found out I was supposed to need the motocontrol harness. Well the flickering is better to a degree but, the humming is the same..Let us know how yours turned out

    will do. The motocontrol harness actually didn't work for me (was what I started with) as the projectors would come on as planned but would not turn off when switched off or even when the ignition was turned off. Had to either disconnect the harness or the battery.

    This was the fix. I did hear a humming the first time I tested them but haven't since. No flickering for me yet but haven't driven with them at night for an extended period either.

    Yeah once I crank my truck I obviously cannot hear the hum..but, its there still. Flickering seems a tad better at start up. Idk! Just gonna run them and keep my fingers crossed. I dont see why there would be any issues down the road
