No butthurt here , you just represent a faction of the population that seemingly shows no empathy towards the wildlife we share the planet with , unfortunate

Maybe. I am arguing an absolute view point which has no shade of gray on purpose, similar to the view that others have about the whales. No one has offered the reason why they feel that the whales are more important than the other animals.

The world doesn't work in absolutes . Opposing the captivity of Orcas for entertainment of humans doesn't make it a prerequisite that you have to oppose livestock paddocks on a farm

Not likely. Its always jammed packed there.

I don't see where you have gained that observation? The animals aren't abused in my opinion. If you want to see real animal abuse then go look at the places where food comes from. If you don't have empathy for those animals but you do for whales then you really should think harder about what is right or wrong.

I do think they are abused , that's where we differ

I agree that large scale slaughterhouses can be terrible as far as animal welfare is concerned , that's why we buy our meat from a local farm

Thanks for your concern over my morality , but I think I got this one figured out

Again whats the difference? At least the whale's captivity is HELPING wild sea life. The only benefit of cows on a farm is that millions of people get to stay fat.

Believe it or not so do I. But I just think resources should be spent in areas where they are needed more. With the dwindleing lion, tiger, cheetah, wolf, rhino, shark, and non captive whale population, and yet everyone is focusing on a very tiny concern. And why? Because this is something they feel they can change with little to no effort or resources from them. All they have to do is click a like button, and if they do it enough seaworld might get the message they want to deliver. Want to REALLY make a difference. Put this issue on the back burner. Make a donation to an organization that is trying to protect WILD and FREE animals. Donate a couple dollars so they can afford the resources to stop the real crimes going on. If you don't the whales left in captivity might soon be the only whales left.

    Not following you

I support the ethical treatment of animals

I do not think it is ethical to keep captive Orcas , same feeling about most zoo situations , I feel OK about wildlife reserves like the ones in Africa for elephants and rhino , in that case the animals are given a vast area , and essentially go about their normal behaviours even though the reserves are fenced , the large area gives the animals adequate space to interact normally .

Like I said before , ethical treatment , of which in my opinion keeping Orcas in a bathtub does not meet the criteria

What a goofy argument , that you can't want the end to Orca captivity and also support wildlife organizations .

    No need to chose .

Captive whales are not helping wild whales .

and you never responded to my question to you posted earlier

But you don't have a problem with farms. Where perhaps is where i've seen some of the most horrendous unethical animal treatment that exists. I do appreciate that you buy your food from the local farm though. The abuse probably isn't bad, its just a little bit.

Not sure where you continually miss the " I support the ethical treatment of animals " statement , which would answer your inquiry fairly easily

I am not opposed to farming , I am not opposed to hunting , I am opposed to unethical treatment of animals , so naturally if someone on a farm was mistreating their animals I would not support that , I mean are you really going to pretend you can't grasp the concept in order to continue the argument ?

I never said I wasn't for their freedom. What i basically said is right now they are a necessary evil, and drafted soldiers in the worldwide battle. The orcas are the number one draw to seaworld. They bring in millions of visitors every year. Without them attendance at seaworld would plummet. Seaworld also happens to be one of the LARGEST contributors to ocean life conservation. Lose the whales, lose millions of dollars being spent to save WILD animals, its that simple.
    http://seaworldparks.com/en/seaworld-sandiego/animals/conservation/

As soon as you eliminate the hunting for whales, dolphins, sharks, and other endangered animals I'll be right there behind you rallying for their freedom.

As for your question, im sorry i must have skimmed past it, i'll go back and look for it.
