    I have a few mods
    my front end previously had 9" tread to fender, after the spindles, it's now 13" tread to fender, its about a 6"-7" of lift id say. Now im thinking about actually keeping the front as high as it is and seeing what my options are on raising the rear up....I really dont want to use blocks....but I dont think there is any other way of doing that. or I could just lower the front an inch or so

    if I were to lower my COs to 0, my front would still be higher than it was before, and Id have all the down travel :p. ive only lost a small amount of down travel since i havent cranked the COs ALL the way up. I was glad I got rid of that crappy spacer lift, Nam...you need to get Coilovers and get rid of them spacers yo

    Blocks are fine if your just running around on the street. For off-road though, blocks - some soft of traction bar to prevent axle wrap = busted driveline parts and/or leaf springs. Blocks result in a lot more axle-wrap because they exert more leverage on the springs making the springs literally look like this ~. This leads to wheel hop when the tire finally breaks traction, which is when you start popping ujoints, tearing driveshafts in half, busting ring and pinions, and all sorts of other unpleasant stuff. Also, the spring repeatedly being forced into ~ this shape will cause it to fatigue prematurely and possibly fail (break in half).

    This is why people, who know, hate blocks.

    I dont want to use blocks to raise the rear, looking for other ways, I wish there were lift shackles for 2nd gens

    unless you have a TRD off road, the springs will be the weakest link when using blocks. if you have an off road, say bye bye to your R&P. driveshaft explosions/decintigration is more common with other makes/models. when properly maintained, i have yet to see a driveshaft go on a 2nd gen due to anything other than work out parts(no grease), or from and actual impact with an obstacle off road.

    You could get a shackle flip kit like Tim and Wes have. Also, you could hit up the local spring shop and see if they could re-arch your springs for you.

    ok, so this is what I've been a little confused about, I know with the front suspension add 1" spacer per say and you get 2" of lift. what about the rear? its just exactly whatever you put back there correct? my standards are giving me 3" of lift so if I wanted 6" of rear lift, a 6" leafpack would give me that correct? I never really thought about it until now

    Wes told me you can use Jeep XJ shackles with the kit and they are pretty cheap.

    They are longer, yes. You have to already have done the shackle flip though. It's a pretty straight forward install with no welding required. If you have the right tools and a friend, it shouldn't take more than a couple hours. Unless you run into problems like Wes did, lol.

    hahaha lol, ya I know the rivets are the biggest pain to cut out, once they are out, the flip just bolts right in
