I agree. But go with Leer if you want windoors. I had a Leer with windoors on my old Dakota for 20 years with no problems. On my new Tacoma, I've had an ARE with windoors for a few weeks and I'm already on the second set of windoors. The first ones were so sloppily put together that the rivets holding them in place broke and caused damage to the windoor frame. The second set needs to get replaced because ARE didn't install the glass properly and they leak terribly.

I went with ARE for my Tacoma because the dealer is local, but I should have gone the extra distance to get another Leer. Lesson learned.

 

I have the ARE CX series with windoors and have no issues at all with mine.
I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
another option I would highly recommend is the sliding tilt-down front window. I love this option!

 

The LEER 100XQ has full length side windows that bend to open, instead of hinging
That scared the shit outa me. It is also their top of the line model and therefore most expensive.
Went with the LEER 100XL for appearance more than functionality. Though it servers my purposes.
Options: Adventure Pack, 4' Aero Bar Upgrade, Keyless Entry, and Removable Front Slider.
Including a $30 OFF Coupon, it was $2450 +/- OTD w/Tax. None of 'em are cheap.
Probably woulda got a SnugTop if I was a couple thousand miles west.
Have had cap replaced twice under warranty, due to defects. LEER quality has declined a bit.
Still not perfect, but I'm happy with it, and would buy it again.
Have since replaced the rear window struts once, under warranty.
Have also purchased 5' AeroBlades and 4 additional feet.
OZ-T has a LEER with a reinforced roof for a 400lb load capacity if ur carrying weight.
Though I think it limits the ability of having frameless side windows. You know....stylish.
But his model's rear window opens much higher for head clearance.

i like my ARE CX series with the carpeting and light, both "free" upgrades.

 

Well after doing something I decided it was time to get a cap hunting season around the corner I wanted to have it by then. I picked up the Leer 100XQ and added front slider/flip down window and the key less entry. Due to a Leer coupon I got the key less entry for free. It was expensive all said and done but it will be worth it in the long run. I looked at the 100xr, 100xl and the 100xq. After pricing them all with the options I wanted, there was only a difference of like 300 bucks from the xr to the xq so I went with the one I originally wanted. Being the XQ came with the carpeted inside standard and the others did not after adding that to the others they all were close in price IMO.

 

I thought about this but there is no security, when hunting its nice to be able to lock up your guns and equipment back there.

 

I had a LEER 100R on my '06, loved it. I have a LEER 100XL on my 2013 and 2014, love it more. The 100R is a few hundred cheaper, would recommend it in a heartbeat.,

 

Leer XQ is going on today!! Order came in yesterday

 

For those of you with the Leer XQ.. How exactly do the side "tip-out" window work. The Leer website says they tip out, but show no pics. I haul bird dogs around and need to make sure there's adequate ventilation. I was looking at the XL as well, but I'm just not comfortable with the ventilation on those. Thoughts from any of you dog owners?

 

If you look around the edges of the window frame you will see little clips. Push the clips inward and the window will come out toward you. It's kind of a frame in a frame design.

 

Thanks for the info. Does it seem like they "pop-out" enough to provide good ventilation? I've always just used the plain old slider type windows, which seem to provide good ventilation, but I like the looks of the frameless window much more. Thanks again.
