$15,000 worth of trade in results in almost $1000 tax savings at 6%, which is the tax rate here in Maryland.

what do you mean, according to this thread everyone's prices seem to be different,
everyone is getting there truck at a different price, so if you're saying tax varies so does prices there just include everything into your total, you sound stupid saying you paid 29,000$ when you really paid whatever + in add on's and tax

Some states don't even have sales tax and some don't have property tax. Should we be counting property tax also? Let's count license fees while we're at it. Anything else we're missing? yall dumb dumb

Unless I'm wrong, the purpose of this thread is to help people negotiate a price on a truck. Dealers do not make the tax money so you can't include that and give someone a reasonable point to negotiate from. If you live in Delaware you don't paid sales tax, so your price would be significantly cheaper than someone elses, but that doesn't mean someone who lives somewhere with a 6% tax rate is going to get that price. By giving what the price was before taxes and tags you give everyone a true value to negotiate for. I'm not trying to start anything, but calling everyone else stupid who does this makes you the one who looks , well I let others fill in the blank. Remember dealers don't keep the taxes and tag fees, that goes to the state.

Exactly. It's not "What did you pay for your 2014 and what did you pay the state, county, city in taxes on your 2014." Now that would sound stupid...

This is forum for sharing information and helping others. With that, giving what the price was before all the extras is the most valuable information to those looking to buy. Giving what you paid total with all the fees doesn't help anyone.

Well if that's the case I guess I should throw in how much I got for my trade in.

The only fee that I think should be included in any dealer fee. Around here they are pretty much all $200. I'm not sure if this is standard across the country. All other fees are paid to the state are variable based on state.
I could have included the $1000 military rebate I got, but not everyone is eligible for that so I didn't include it. There are pretty much two factors that are negotiable in buying a car; the price of the car and the value of your trade.

now that i actually have it (and 2400 miles on it already). $30,700 for my AC 4x4 off-road manual trans in pyrite mica with entune plus.

since everyone is wailing about sales tax, mine was 8%.

ive already scratched up the passenger side with tree branches, dinged the skid plate, put an icon stage 4 lift on and just had some rock sliders put on.

    love this thing!

dont love that the AC compressor took a shit on me yesterday though. i barely even use the thing!

Pretty excited to join the TW family. Been lurking for the past few weeks, but I just got back from the dealership where I put down the 500 dollar deposit on a new Tacoma. They didn't have any on the lot - just a single Silver Sky Double Cab with TRD off road package. Hoping to take delivery of a Super White truck by the end of the week!

I put in for a 4x4 access cab V6 with SR5 trim. Tow package, alloy wheels and floor mats. MSRP $31,405 got it for $28,963.76+TTL. I have family who works for TFS, so I was able to purchase through the Employee Purchase Program which is dealer invoice minus the holdback and wholesale finance charges.

Price seems decent if not amazing, and I didnt have to haggle which is great.

    Got mine today:
Magnetic Gray 4X2 Prerunner DC SR5 with Entune Plus, Tow Pkg, and alloy wheels, and the all weather Tacoma matts/door sills.

    MSRP was $29,045
Got them down to $27600 (not that great)
Minus $1000 for military so it came out to 26,600.
Gave me 2500 trade in for my 2000 Exploder
So all told with TT&L and their doc fee (which they wouldn't budge on) I was OTD for $26,600.
I probably could have gotten them down another 400-600 if I tried but I just didn't want to fight anymore.

I did notice, however, that it tends to shift down kind of hard as it's slowing down around the 30-40 MPH range. Has anyone else noticed this or am I being a little oversensitive?

Went to the dealer today and asked a mechanic about it. He says you have to give the computer time to "learn" your driving habits. Not sure the downshift will change that much but every vehicle has it's own characteristics. Although slightly annoying, I'm not really concerned about it as much as I want to make sure nothing is wrong. I guess it's normal if other folks are experiencing the same thing.
