They are BFG Baja's, but I think he was about ready to take a dump in them. He had to walk to the top of that ridge to get a cell signal. I told him by the time he got a ride to town I would have the truck running again, but he didn't believe me and walked anyway.

Yah, it was supposed to be a quick ride that turned into an adventure. It was a good time. We got to discuss all of the shit we have destroyed together over the years... sandrails, motorcycles, 4x4's etc. Oh and the lawnmower with the CR250 engine that burst into flames on the airstrip test run. I wish we had gopros as kids.

Got a question for you guys up in Portland, or vets who have been to the VA there. What would be the easiest way to get to the VA hospital and get a place to park at around 8am on a Friday? I gotta go up there on the 30th to review my medical stuff with the neurosurgeon before I get my back surgery done.

 

Do we have any police or state troopers in this thread? I am getting out in November and I am thinking about a career in Law enforcement. I would like some tips on how to apply. Currently deployed soo my options are limited but I should be home late May. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I also have friends who got out and got hired with LAPD. They say it's worse than being deployed, but you get your credentials and some LE work on your resume.

I was considering Federal LE work myself. You get hiring preference as a combat vet, excellent benefits, and they send you to school for all your training. I ended up getting hired on with the National Weather Service doing work closely aligned to my previous MOS. Check USAjobs for those opportunities.

I've never been turned on by that, yet it's never happened LOL, BUT, if you happen to lose, she'll probably be really turned off.

 

My point is, if he starts a fight, there's nothing you can do, but walking away is actually, believe it or not, the manliest thing you can do...to a woman anyways. Doesn't mean you're a pansy. Just means you don't need the drama and you're better than him.
