Probably so, I've only had an alignment twice since I've had 33's. Both times I didn't know anything about caster haha

She thinks she's going to be looked at as a failure to employers if she makes one B and loses her 4.0 GPA for one quarter of her Sophomore year...

Basically , but the only time I've done that recently was in math homework, and I know I'm gonna pass (It's just pass/fail).

Never knew about wolfram alpha until our math teacher told us about it.

 

GPA is very important. But it must be balanced with work experience and activities out side of school. As for findina job, 3.3 to 3.5 is perfect when you tack on related work experience or eztra carriculars. I know a few high level be people who know the value of hard work and respect job hopefully who have worked their bit off through college and got a lower GPA than somone who only went to school, got a 4.0 and never carried a long term position in anything. It's all about balance and not pigeon holing yourself

If her grades go down as low as she thinks they will she will end up with a 3.6 for the quarter. So I don't really understand what she if worried about haha

She has more volunteer hours than anybody I know, so work ethic isn't an issue. She's just having a hard time finding an internship where she's currently at. Isn't much to speak of. But the Business program she's in doesn't open up internships until Junior year anyways.

 

Try looking out side of the business program if need be to find as many postings as possible

Join an accountancy related fraternity.

I know at bsu we have beta alpha psi, less of a fraternity more of an accountancy honors society, there are a great number of experiences and networking opprotunities that come out of that alone.

 

In today's world, 3.3-3.5 isn't likely to be very competitive because there are so many people holding degrees. A high GPA is most important because you can always take some time off school and fill in the gaps of extra curricular stuff. But in order to raise a GPA, you have to take class after class after class.

Our generation seems to have a "let me win the race to a career" as if we have 5 years of life left.

A 3.3-3.5 gpa w/lots of extra curricular activities almost tells employers "yes this person can handle a load but the product of everything is of lesser quality".

And grad schools will say GPA is most important as well and will gladly take a 3.6 not as active compared to a 3.3 active person is if came down to those two individuals.

 

there are so many un knowns and so many variables...i just want to hit the middle ground of eveything.

if its one thing ive learned from people who are successful, it is to be a jack of all trades and a master of none. agree or not, i have heard this advice over and over and it seems to work.

I have checked mine a whole bunch, 2 grades left to come in for my final undergrad gpa.

One class I have no idea, the other class I am 8points from an a. I had 104.5/100 in lab and about 20 points of ec in lecture.

He only gave me 100% in lab and no lecture ec yet....hopefully he doesnt forget about that lol.
