Hey guys, Im pretty basic when it comes to automotive repair. Just wondering your thoughts on what this leak might be. It seems to be between the cv boot and the front diff. Bad seal? Easy to fix? Take to toyota. Truck is 2011 with 48k, 3'' lift eibach billie lift. Thanks in advance!

More pictures at different angles would help, but it appears your axle seal is leaking. Check your diff fluid level. It's a pretty easy relacement but you've got to pull the axle. If you're in there you might consider installing the ECGS bushing and ditching the needle bearing if it's the drivers side.

Thanks I can get some after work. Im gonna take it to the stealership on lunch since I still have some powertrain warranty left. I doubt this would be a lift issue as Ive seen this tends to be a reoccurring issue for these trucks. Wonder if switching to the full synthetic awhile back had something to do with it.

Unless you put the wrong weight in it shouldn't make any difference in the seal performance(And even then I don't think it would matter).

    What did the dealer say/do?

Dealer covered it under warranty and gave me a rental too, was what I thought, diff seal. I didnt have to argue or anything, shocked the crap out of me.

It's really nice when you get good service.
