Yup.. when I asked what proof he had he said I'd have to fight it to find out.. Im sorry but even if I know 100% that I didnt cheat I still wouldnt want them coming up with some bullshit excuse to say I did.. My friend said by the final there was like 30 of the original 50 students left.

I would have contested it, but I would have gone to the dean first and said "this is the situation, can I have an answer to my simple question?" If it's your word against his, worst case is that they/he makes you retake a different test under controlled conditions.

I did that before when I professor decided I was the only grade he didn't want to curve. I still passed bbut I should have had a higher grade.

I was basically told that professors are Union and can make their own decisions on what they do

Is there a reason why all these teachers are out to get you?

 

Most are union but they can't single a student out and not give that student a benefit all other students have (unless you set the curve).

They also cannot accuse you of something w/o evidence because that is boarder line defaming your good name.

And as I just stated, if it comes down to his v your word, just ask to retake a similar test. The teacher has no reason to say no.

I'm not saying they are out to get me it's just what happened. I'm not one to blame my grades on the teachers.

Well its too late now. It happened long ago. Not too worried about it. Just need to take the class again

 

I've had shitty teachers that didn't test on what they taught and it made them harder but I'm sure if I studied more I'd do better

 

I wantz my doctorate so I can be an instructor. I would test on whats in the book and only hit minimally what I went over in class. Forces students to actually read and bring up questions they have on things they don't understand.

There is an awesome method of teaching where the instructor says, "I will not lecture on anything except questions you have from the reading"

As well as a method where students actually teach the class (only can be done in small-med class sizes)

One reason bachelor degrees are becoming useless is because instructors are handing students everything they need for the test, and testing in a way that does not promote critical/higher thinking.

In my classes I will make sure the A students will actually know the information and I will have no problem failing a whole class if they don't read and flunk the test because "I" didnt provide them with information that was in the book.

 

That's the method of teaching I like to call not teaching a fucking thing... I'm paying you way too much to tell me to go buy another stupidly expensive textbook and read it and come back when I'm done

Of course this would only be used in higher ed classes

There is a difference in not teaching ad promoting students to be independent information seekers who know how to voice their questions in a way that the other party will understand.

It improves social skill, public peaking, and provides a great platform for students to improve their 'working as a group' skills while ultimately fostering peer to peer learning.

Once again, our generation wants everything handed to us
