I've been looking at used Tacomas for the last few months. It's amazing how much they hold their value. People on craigslist, autotrader, and cars.com are asking much more than KBB. I'd like to get a thread going on how much someone paid for their Tacoma.

There are so many variables that will dictate the price that a template would be hard to work within. The same truck can vary by a few thousand dollars depending on the time of year and where you are selling it.

 

This may not be helpful if you are looking to buy from a dealer or private party without getting your hands a little dirty. But if you are willing to do some work, its pretty inexpensive to own a Tacoma.

I may have paid a lot for this truck, but it was everything I wanted in a truck. I still talked them down a about $2500, so I think I got a good deal. The only mods I want to do myself are just tint the front windows, make a mesh grill, and new speakers. Other than that, my truck is perfect.

 

I'm looking to pickup another 2nd gen for an employee of mine. I found a white '12, reg cab, auto, but (4x4) base everything else. has 40K, they are asking $18,500 is this too much to pay for this truck? The truck is almost mint, and I don't really need or want the 4x4 for an employee truck, but these things are hard enough to find right now as it is.

I live in Phoenix just bought my truck 2 months ago and I bought it at a Toyota dealer
2004 V6 Double cab 4WD . I did allot of work to it since I bought it . TRD rims plastidip them .and plastidiped other parts , bumpers front grill . Hope this helps

You got a great deal on that. I paid 3 grand higher...and I thought I had a good deal.

 

You came out smelling like a rose on that one. You would never find one from a dealer around here like that, believe me, I've looked. I got the exact same truck you stated with a longbed, minus the TRD Sport package, and shelled out $3,500 more.

You pretty much got it for what a dealer would pay you for a trade-in.
