    realistically? Remove it from the truck and take a wire wheel and sand the whole thing down and prime it.

    Hmm, it is definitely on my list of things to paint, but with senior saggy springs there is no way I could paint under there and not pass out (plus with saggy springs no one can see my axle clearly anyway) :violent: I'll do it when I put in my new diff gearing.

    Depends on how bad its rusted. If its just a little surface rust, knock off what you can with a pressure washer. Then just spray right over with a coat of Clean Metal Primer and as many coats as you want with a black or bedliner of your preference.
