SCS SR8 new wheel model

hey i wanted to know do the rock rings on these wheels have the same bolt pattern as the OMF simulock rings? these would look pretty sick with some scalloped rings!!!

No, but I'm all over the 285 thing now. Go big or go home! I almost bought some Spidertrax the other day and just kept my stock wheels. But I'm leaning towards the 17's, so I'll just wait.

I had this squeak with my new Dakars that was driving me crazy. Spend all this money on the Icon/Dakar setup and then to have this Gawd awful noise. Anyway, the bolts on the rear shackle on both sides were installed the wrong way and they were rubbing on the support bracket. Got it fixed and no noise. Even better is that it rides better now. I think the bolt/bracket thing was limiting the travel of the shackle and making it rough.

 

It is strange that the daks would come out of assembly like that.

If you don't mind sacrificing some giddy up off of the line, the 285's are great. They certainly look killer! I am still getting 17+ mpg city and 22 highway if I keep the rpm's near 2G

 

Just so you're clear, they're not removable or should be considered a "rock rings". It's a regular lip like any other wheel that simulates a beadlock design.

I doubt that the OMF rings are a direct fit, but I'm sure that if you send your wheels to them, they can make them work without a problem.

 

It was an install problem on the Daks.

Sooo, I have this idea that if I get the 285's I'll need the supercharger... Haven't floated that one by the general yet, but I'm dreaming.

 

Just regear, much cheaper.

Go in asking for the supercharger and "settle" for the regear lol

Then the S/C is definitely your best choice...lol. I certainly feelno need to regear onmy 285's
