What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

My GF, bless her heart, hadn't changed her blades in 4 years out here. She might as well have had used baby diapers for blades, with the amount of streaking and smearing going on.

This past weekend I detailed the outside, inside, weatherstripping, etc of her car and threw on the Goodyear blades from Costco (26" and 17"). She just got done driving through an insane thunderstorm with torrential rain to get to the airport. She just texted "thank god for those wiper blades"

 

But can they survive a Phoenix summer? 0% humity and 110°+ temps. Doesn't matter which brand I have tried, they are only good for one summer. Must replace at the first sign of monsoon season.

 

They'll last longer if they're in the shade, and if you use your wipers (with fluid) more often.

 

Which is why in the sunny dry AZ they do not last long

 

Nah, they last longer if they're frozen solid and you use them and deicing fluid to scrape the snow and ice off of your frozen windshield

 

At $5 I replace them twice a year.

The front range of CO has brutal sun and temps in the summer too.

 

So this is how my cb antenna arrived in the mail today, is that little brass cap supposed to be secured to the tip of the antenna or does it just rest on the tip?
Figured I would ask before I contact the company for no reason.

 

It's the tunable tip, goes on like this...

 

i know how it goes on, im asking if the brass cap on it is supposed to be fixed on the top, or is the little cap supposed to be removeable?
