What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Why? I like mine just fine. Made plenty of road trips on them with no issues.

My only complaint is when driving under 5mph you get that vibration from the gap in the lugs. But it's a mud terrain so I'm perfectly fine with it.

 

i think km2s are nice for places without snow..... they are ridiculous in the snow and ice.

Mud terrains just don't do well in hard pack. You can sipe them and get a marginal improvement, but still not as good as a winter tire obviously.

 

For those asking about wiper blades... I bought the rainX blades and they lasted maybe 6 months. Not bad I guess. They did give a good clean, streak less wipe when needed. The passenger side started to rip off the bracket.
I forgot about changing wiper blades before getting the inspection done, so they saw the passenger side blade was ripping off so they tried to sell me one of theirs for $20!!! I thought to my self I can buy 2 sets of new wiper blades for that price. So now I gotta go back after to complete the inspection after I get the new wiper blades.

 

Yes please beware rain-x blades, mine broke right off the arm at the plastic bracket in a decent rain fall with nowhere to pull over so i had to suck it up till i got where i was goin, got bosch icons or something now... They havent broken off yet lol

 

my rain-x blades lasted me 1.5+ years in florida. Mud, sand, and heat. seems good to me

 

My previous ones always lasted long too its all i used to buy, but maybe they changed materials or manufacturers since then

 

Florida is humid heat though isn't it? I feel like they wouldn't last as long if it were dry heat.. Mine aren't too bad but not sure if I would buy them again lol..Everyone was hating on them just a page or 2 ago lol..

 

No one was hating on the Rain X blades.

All I said was that for half the money, the Goodyears perform just as well, if not better.

For the record I was definitely hating on the Bosch Icons. They're horrible.

Everywhere I look online is asking $15-$20 a piece!

EDIT: just checked amazon.. i find it funny how rain-x is the most expensive blade when you go to auto zone or whatever. But on amazon rain-x is the cheapest blade. Bosch is like 10-11$ ea vs rain-x is like 5$ ea..

TL;DR Costco has blades (on sale for $4.99 right now) that are great.

Mounted sometime in mid June.

 

Finished drilling out the rusted up flange bolts for my back cat. Welded a new hanger bracket on it, tried to put it back on and concluded I welded the bracket backward.

After welding on another piece of scrap in the other direction and screwing around with it for 20 minutes wondering why still it wouldn't line up right, I realized I was trying to put the cat back on upside down.

Once it was back on and bolted up, went for a drive and 5 minutes later my cel was gone. No more leaks!
